Last year. Fitz at 2, I finished 1-13.
2011. Coldwizard had Fitz. Went 7-7. Had Fitz, AP, MJD and Wallace. Still finished 7-7 with Flacco at QB.
2010. Deviations had Fitz. Went 5-9. Had Fitz, MJD, and Carson Palmer as QB.
2009. Forte's Firemen had Fitz. Went 8-5. Had Fitz, Rodgers, CJ2K. Finished 6th.

I hadn't picked up on it until you made it so obvious, but I get your point now. Fitz had a "bad" year last year because you drafted him. He should do much better this year since you didn't.

I don't believe WR1 with the first pick has ever won a dime at least not in IDP.

True, nor is this game deterministic enough to narrow it down to a real best case.

But, if I want to win - you study what the winners do and how they do things differently from you. I tried an experiment last year by attempting EPW's strategy with Schaub with Rivers. It was a failure.

My favorite part came and went -- the scrambling chaos of the middle rounds when the defenders come into play (roughly 8-15). Our benches are deep enough that there's not much fun or opportunity in the endgame.

Sloww, I thought you had turned over a new leaf this year regarding patience with the draft foibles of others. Sorry to learn you're so annoyed. Take comfort in the fact that the IDP will almost certainly end tomorrow, and you will be the man to do it with pick #220, Mr. Irrelevant. (I will have my own personal Mr Irrelevant in round 22, my annual quest to see if I can find someone unwanted who will stick with the team.)

I think I've been fairly self-controlled this year. Not once have I said BAPAY in earnest.

It helps that the draft has gone pretty quick....there hasn't been a lot of opportunity for you to say "BAPAY in earnest". to all of us.

I agree with Jrabbit on the deep benches. There was a discussion between you two of rookies and bench defenses, I'm not sure it matters which way you go, but I would like to see us shorten the bench next year to maybe make people have to think about their bench positions a little more during the season.

It doesn't matter which way you go. If I had the choice, I'd take the young guy rising over the older guy going down. Jr knows that's what I meant.

I'm happy with the benches as they are. There are other, shorter drafts and then this one which requires more preparation. Different strokes for different folks.

Indeed, just the one BAPAY which was cancelled. I don't believe we've acheived that before. Tomorrow this will be finished, and unless something untoward happens, we'll have all our players once again!

I like large benches, in part because they tend to benefit players like me.

I'd like to discuss adding a new position next year - Team Defense, with scoring for yardage, points allowed, 3-and-outs, and turnovers, similar to Jag's current system. Maybe dropping one bench slot at the same time (or adding another?). A lot of IDP leagues do this.

Just a thought for future consideration.
