      He reported Nylander as a done deal, when it clearly was not.

          What he reported turned out to be true. Late on July 1st the Oilers told him and another radio guy that Nylander had agreed to come to Edmonton. There's an offer sheet or somesuch that he or his agent (Mike Gillis, IIRC) signed.

          Nylander's wife said she would not go. Nylander never signed the completed contract. The Oilers had nothing to file with the league. Ergo, Nylander remained a UFA.

          This was all verified by the Oilers after the fact.

              I should say reported. He did not 'break' it with confirmation, etc as a story.

              He simply said that he was coming back, several times.

                Fact remains it was not a done deal. And you've just called for LA to be investigated for reporting a deal that was not done.

                    Nylander (or his agent) signed an offer sheet. The contracts get done and filed with the league long after Bob McKenzie reports that X has signed with Y.

                          You seem confused. He wasn't BEING shopped. By the time you posted that, HE WAS ALREADY SHOPPED. That's what I said. Vancouver traded away their negotiating rights.
