Vancouver's your classic arrogant team with a shakey goalie and poor playoff performances. They're ripe for an upset.
    .906
    2.63

    .928
    2.11

And Luongo's the shaky goalie. Maybe Calgary should give Kippersoft a night off once in a while so that his stats weren't so terrible.
Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

      1) Those are not terrible stats
      2) I'm talking about Luongo's performances in big games. And don't tell me he won Olympic gold, his stats were worse than the ones above which you've already deemed "terrible". Do I even need to link the gamesheets for the last playoff game, where Luongo showed his worth?

The main reason the Canucks will lose is Karma. Douchiest fanbase in all of sports after Philly.

So he can't get it done in big games, except when he does get it done.

Luongo didn't win that game. Luongo just was in net for the winning team. He wasn't a factor in the game. His stats, by your metric, were "terrible".

Luongo was in net for one big game win but he wasn't particularly impressive. Even my Canuck fan friends acknowledged that.

Otherwise Lungo has frequently looked strong to downright impressive in regular seasons but I have not seen him come up big and carry a team at the key time.

Oh and I would not bet against Chicago taking a series against Vancouver. I can't forsee a sweep and in fact my uncertainty about Crawford makes me wonder if they even win but I wouldn't hate their chances

He wasn't even expected to start and then won the job over Brodeur.

Luongo's pretty much shattered every Canuck regular season record, with the exception of career wins with the club. Another good year next year, and he'll own that too. I'm more worried about the Sedins than I am Luongo.

Funny how you were arguing how Luongo would be the clear starter before, now you're saying he wasn't expected to.

Brodeur is halfway to the grave. Luongo got it by default when Brodeur wasn't up to par.

Yeah, there's a tremendous accomplishment. With such a storied franchise, that's quite something. The Canucks are legendary in their goaltending depth going back through the ages.

If the first round matchup in Chicago-Vancouver, I'm taking Chicago without a second's hesitation. Probably in 6, but 4 wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

As predicted, no. They actually played better in the second half than I thought would have been possible for them but in the end some of the dead weight -- Stajan, Hagman, Kotalik meant they were not deep enough to make it

They came close to the playoffs than I expected though

Now I can go back to cheering only my habs

                              .
Brodeur lost the job through even more crappy play- I note that even you aren't saying that Luongo played great in the Olympics. -- Oh and if we were picking the Olympic team today, I think I would pick Cam Ward-- If Luongo can have a fantastic playoff, he might silence the doubters but doubters will remain until he shows up really big in a crucial game like a game 7--

The point is -- who cares? If Luongo bombs this year in the playoffs I don't see the stench of failure ever dissipating from him and no one will care what a good regular season goalie he is. He has the ability to play well but only time will tell if he actually does play well in the crucial game. The good thing for the 'nucks is that they have an excellent goalie in Schneider-- If Luongo falters I wonder will the Canucks give him a shot?

I will say that I would have a healthy respect for either the Hawks or the Ducks as opponents. I wouldn't fear the Kings quite as much if they are the opponent but in the West heck everyone is pretty strong
