    Uh, the fact that they are awarded an automatic playoff spot has no bearing on playoff success? Are you really arguing this?
    Insofar as they get top 3 seed guaranteed, it helps. But when you talk about a team's PLAYOFF SUCCESS, this DOES NOT include regular season wins. Which is what a division title means.

      Vancouver 99 - 113
      Calgary 94 - 114.

      With a cup win, the Canucks have the superior playoff record.

      This includes their time in Atlanta.

      If we take out their Atlanta time, that's 2-15 so they would be 93-99 for a .484 record vs a .467.

      So the Canucks as a franchise have been more successful then the Flames.

      For the Canucks to pass Calgary, they would have to go 107-113, or 8 wins without any losses, or the flames would have to lose 4 and the Canucks would have to win 4.

      It's been a long time since the Canucks have been this close. They haven't not since I was 8, and they won it all in '89.

            TL;DR: Vancouver is still not as successful as Calgary in the playoffs. So you just wasted a whole bunch of your time.

              Fast fact, Calgary has won once in the first round since '89. Against Vancouver. No wonder you are so nostalgic for that series.

                So you are still trying to find ways to deride the Flames a couple hours from a potential cup?

                          Less than half a period for Luongo, 3 goals on 8 shots.....not sure what his GAA or SAV% is for this game, but it can't be good

                          Time to see how Schnieder can do...and not well apparently, as he was scored on his 2nd shot (while I was typing this edit).

                          I wonder if Mclean or Brodeur are available as a 3rd goalie?
