  • He assets that Kolb is probably asking for a trade which there is no evidence for but it's cool it's just a guess... then he says, he's not the least bit surprised that Kolb is pushing for a trade... huh? When did Kolb maybe possibly asking for a trade suddenly turn into, I'm not surprised that he IS pushing for a trade?
It's a simple explanation, fits all the data. Sure, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not surprised to hear that he might not stay on the team.

quick comparison... how does Jackson compare the past three years with a veritable superstar in Philip Rivers throwing to him... 168 catches in the last three years. Marshall does that in a year and a half.

Is he worth 12 million a year? No. Does his name come up when you think best WR in the game? No.

Vincent Jackson gets as many yards as he does on about 2/3rds as many catches. He averages a full 5 yards more per catch than Marshall. It's not even close.

Marshall is the poor man's Welker.

Yes. His name most definitely does come up. The only thing is that over the past decade, we've been in such a golden age of wide receivers that there are a lot of great WR's playing right now so guys get lost in the shuffle. I mean between Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith... there's a lot of top guys out right now... but Marshall is definitely in their league.

And what Jackson gets as many yards? Last 3 years, Jackson played 47 games and had 2888 yards. Marshall played 46 games and had 3710 yards.

in one less game played, Marshall had 822 more yards. Is that as many yards to you?

Or how about TD's in the past 3 years... Jackson 19 TD's, Marshall 23 TD's so no, Jackson doesn't have that on him either.

            Not really.

Andre, Fitz, Wayne, Moss, Austin and White are the true top tier. Then you have folks like Calvin Johson, Marques Colston, DeShaun Jackson, Greg Jennings, Steve Smith, Welker and Marshall.

He's a good WR, but he's not elite.

Right, when Vincent Jackson wasn't even a starter. The last two years, he's outproduced Marshall. 2265 yards to 2385 yards. on 127 catches to 210. That's 17.83 Y/C vs 11.35. Huge difference.

Are you even a Chargers fan? Who was the starting receiver for the Chargers in 2007? I'll give you a clue... he was the Chargers leading Wide Receiver in receptions and yardage and his initials are V and J.

Nevermind the fact that Vincent Jackson was drafted in 2005... and 2007 was his 3rd year THE starting receiver of the Chargers with Philip Rivers at QB and in his 3rd freaking year, and Vincent Jackson couldn't break the 650 yard barrier At least his 41 catches and 623 yards led his position on the team so there's no question that he was not only THE starter but THE team's #1 WR, even though he sucked.

And somehow, he's better than Marshall who had 104 catches and 1200+ yards in HIS 3rd year.

Let's not forget that Vincent Jackson is OLDER than Marshall. Jackson has done less in more time than Marshall

                • Marshall, no matter how good he may or may not be, is a distraction. He's a spoiled brat. Vincent Jackson is one too, though. Let them drive a school bus for a year and see if their attitude adjusts a little.

They're wide receivers... wide receivers are genetically pre-disposed to being distractions and primadonnas.

Mostly because I think some fans are smart enough to realize that the NFL doesn't have guaranteed contracts. So why demand a player be loyal to his team when there is no guarantee that a team has to be loyal to their player? At least in leagues like the MLB, if the team releases a player they have to pay him what his contract says and not just be able to get out of it.

yeah but do you see much fan support for Vincent Jackson? I really haven't seen it. Compare his situation with Josh Cribbs in the summer. Commentators and analysts left and right said the Browns should pay Cribbs and he had a lot of fan support in his case.

They still owe him another $24.9 Million! Pay the man!
