Holy crap how Kolb has fallen!

The Philadelphia Eagles have received numerous calls about the availability of quarterback Kevin Kolb from several teams, according to a senior team official.

"We have had calls," the team official said Wednesday.

One of the teams to contact the Eagles about Kolb was the Cleveland Browns, whose general manager is Tom Heckert. Heckert was the Eagles' GM before taking over in the same capacity with Cleveland before this season.

When asked Wednesday whether Kolb would be on the Eagles' roster after the Oct. 19 trade deadline, Eagles coach Andy Reid said, "Listen, I can't predict anything down that far, nobody in this league can do that."

Who, going into the season, would EVER have imagined that Kolb might get traded! Holy ****!

Something is going on here... did Kolb have a nervous breakdown or something? No way would the Eagles have gone so strongly for Vick and so against Kolb from their performances in two games... something else is going on.

Vincent Jackson isn't going to be anything. I have the suspicion he's going to be another good but not spectacular receiver on a potent offense who left and then never amounted to anything on another team. Kind of like Darrell Jackson or Javon Walker. I think if he was truly one of the best receivers in the NFL then he would have been more dominant in the Chargers' offense... he should have been playing like Miles Austin or Andre Johnson, not barely cracking 1000 yards. Phillip Rivers sure throws the ball enough.

V-Jax is like a lot of other NFL players -- angling for the big payday based on a relatively short resume and a strong physical skillset (Cutler, Kolb, Berrian, off the top of my head). Paying a player huge guarantees before he's established a truly dominating track record is a sucker's game -- and the NFL has plenty of GMs willing to take a chance. Because some of them do actually pay off.

It's a seller's market, so why not cash in?

The San Diego Union-Tribune confirms that Vincent Jackson is "expected to sit out the remainder of the season" after losing an attempt to have his Roster Exempt status overturned on Wednesday.

"We had multiple deals in place," insisted Neil Schwartz, one of Jackson's agents. "It is our understanding from (other general managers) that the Chargers were unreasonable."

Said Jackson, "My agents and teams interested did everything to make it happen, but this organization stopped it. I just want to play football. It feels unethical and I am disappointed."

Seems to me, if he "just wants to play football," all he has to do is serve his three games and strap it up. I don't so much object to the holdout as I do to the ridiculous 180-from-reality spin.

Jackson is an ass. And it's funny how a lot of times guys like this who demand more money usually get a lot of fan support to their cause. I'm not seeing many people talking about "Pay Jackson" the way people were about paying Josh Cribbs recently.

He wants Brandon Marshall money which is why he's holding out. Personally I think he's better than Marshall, but then I think Marshall is massively overpaid. Personally I think 5 million or so a year is about right. AJ offered him 3.5 which is a low offer, but understandable given the conduct issues with the DUI.

I really don't understand why AJ is regarded as evil. If anything the ownership is the 'Lord of No Rings', the same Spanos issues from the late 70's seem very similar to now.

Look at the Ben logic at work... He assets that Kolb is probably asking for a trade which there is no evidence for but it's cool it's just a guess... then he says, he's not the least bit surprised that Kolb is pushing for a trade... huh? When did Kolb maybe possibly asking for a trade suddenly turn into, I'm not surprised that he IS pushing for a trade?

Yep, that's my opinion. I think Marshall is very overrated.
