  • I can't help but point out with a chuckle how - excepting the Moss trade - no one has said a damn thing about New England all year, and yet here we are at the halfway point of the season and the Patriots have the best record in the league. Bill Belichick is an evil genius.

As far as my team is concerned, I'd say that I wished we could win a game without having to make it a cardiac arrest-inducing experience for the fanbase, but given that we're 5-2 after certain national publications that will go unnamed picked us to go 2-14, I shouldn't be complaining.

Well. It is a rebuilding year, after all.

There's still a feeling up here that it's all being done with smoke and mirrors, particularly on defense; and even if it isn't, there are a bunch of youngsters that could very well be hitting the wall just when they're needed most. Then again, a couple of the Superbowl teams felt like smoke and mirrors as well, so maybe it's not such a bad thing after all.

Sloww is actually... not wrong. At least two of those INTs were the fault of the WRs. Kitka put the ball where it needed to go perfectly, the WRs didn't make the plays they needed to.

          • I know I'm not wrong. I watched the damn game. For someone that hasn't played in years, Kitna was the best thing about the Cowboys. Let me offer a little proof, conversely. Andre Ware had NO statistics. Not a sack. Not a fumble. Not a tackle. The running game was crap. I have no problem with Kitna at all. For 2nd string, he did real well.

            • Andre Ware? The old Detroit Lions QB bust? DeMarcus Ware?

Maybe Shanahan remembered how that one year, Andy Reid pulled McNabb for Kolb against the Ravens and McNabb came out of that week like a man possessed and led the Eagles to the NFC championship game when they lost to the Cardinals. Maybe Shanahan was hoping it could work again? Only thing I can imagine but that's a stupid reason, made more stupid by the fact that they were down only 6 with 1:45 to go. Oh and the Redskins are on a bye next week so it's not like McNabb is going to be taking it out on the field... instead he'll be at home thinking about it.

I knew you weren't really a Cowboys fan.

Oh and I don't even know how the Patriots win games. They're not all that good overall. At least they don't seem all that good on paper. But I guess as long as they have Brady and Belichick they will win games.

And yea... pulling McNabb was really dumb. No matter where he goes, he just can't get any respect.

                        • Yeah I mean McNabb hasn't been the greatest this year and he's been uncharacteristic with throwing INTs... He has thrown 8 INTs so far when he has never thrown more than 13 in a season in his entire career (he threw 13 in his 2nd year)... but REX GROSSMAN?

Really, it's not even McNabb who's actually #5 in passing yardage (though without a bye yet). The Redskins went 4-12 last year and just aren't a very good team overall. I mean it says a lot when their #2 and #3 WR's are a 27-year old rookie Anthony Armstrong fresh from some defunct league in the Midwest and the soon-to-be 39 year old Joey Galloway. I mean their RB, Ryan Torain, was on the practice squad to begin the season. Their best offensive weapon, Chris Cooley, has been injured a lot, and Santana Moss truly has no business being a #1 receiver yet has never played the complimentary role his skill-set says he would be good at. I think if the Redskins (now, 4-4) can finish 8-8 on the season, I'd say McNabb did a damn fine job.

Expectations that Shanahan and McNabb could just come in and lead them to the Super Bowl in year one were just absurd.

Brady hasn't exactly been carrying them this year.

                              • Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham have no conception of if you can't make the catch, bat it down. Everytime, they hit it upward.

For the most part though, the Giants have been sitting pretty despite all those turnovers.
