More at the linkST. PAUL, Minn. -- The NFL and its locked-out players have been ordered to start talking again.
The federal judge handling the lawsuit against the league told both sides Monday they will participate in court-supervised mediation, saying she still is considering whether to grant the players' request to lift the lockout that's been in place for a month.
The players got their wish, with the talks held in the federal courts in Minnesota rather than the collective bargaining setting where the two sides unsuccessfully met last month.
U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson said formal mediation will begin Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan at his office in the Minneapolis federal courthouse. Boylan will meet with representatives for the players Tuesday, then representatives of the NFL on Wednesday.Comment

You're so old you don't know what this means to younger white guys. Playing football on the playground or whatever else, you always hear white guys are slow; white guys can't be HB's and WR's... there's a whole generation of us who grew up with that being instilled in us. For many years, there wasn't even a single white HB on any NFL team in even a backup role. Peyton Hillis is like a savior

When asked about the novelty of being a white running back in the NFL on the Dan Patrick Show, Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis claimed that he was often taunted during games for being white.
"Every team did it," Hillis said. "They'll say, 'You white boy, you ain't gonna run on us today. This is ridiculous. Why are you giving offensive linemen the ball?'
He went on to give examples of the nicknames he heard throughout the season. Patrick said his favorite was "The Avalanche."
"I heard that one," Hillis replied. "I heard 'White Rhino.' I heard ... Chuck Norris.'"

Whatever, Sloww and Ming. Both of you are too old to be able to relate. When you were on the playground, you had the Larry Csonkas and what not of the world playing. My generation had nothing like that. There hasn't even been a top white WR since Largent who was long before my time, either.
It's dumb but it's almost like Peyton Hillis is the answer to all those Black kids that said **** like white people are slow and white people can't jump or whatever else.
