No kidding. I've never heard of the half-second "grace period" before, and know I've seen delay called without that half-second many, many times. Oh, and Cam Newton is unreal.

Good on Sparty for not folding.

        • 528 yards of total offense, 442 on the ground, 225 of those non-Cam Newton. 243 total yards given up. Even turnover battle. Only 16 net penalty yards (admittedly a poor metric because of the situational differences between penalty yards). Seven point win.

I'll take it any way I can get it, especially with a potential Hat Magic moment snuffed out on that fourth down. As much as I hate LSU, can't argue with taking a knee on first down at their three to end the game.

            • Wisky. All you guys have to do now is avoid your traditional chokejob in Ann Arbor (I doubt you'll have any trouble), and you're looking like 11-1 with a possible top five ranking at the end of the season.

                          • There's no way they won't put Oregon at #1. It's not deserved, but since they were #2 and won, they'll be #1.

Huh? They were already #1 in both polls, and the BCS doesn't work that way. It just puts all the disparate pieces together and spits out where they fall. That said, I expect Oregon to be #1 in the BCS, but not because any "they" put them there. Given that OU was ahead of everybody in the computers, and ahead of everybody but OU and Boise (tied with TCU) in the polls, their loss helps Oregon and BSU least. Auburn should dominate the computers. Oregon should keep its two #1 spots. That should put Oregon at #1, but it will depend on the margins.
