I got that part. It's the implication that the BCS somehow works in concert to determine things like "well, #1 lost and #2 won, so let's move #2 up a spot" that has me puzzled.

OK, but that seems like an odd thing to be puzzled about. I already said I didn't agree with Oregon's ranking.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I am mortified that I left Utah off my list. Revised:
1. Auburn
2. Boise State
3. Oregon
4. Michigan State
5. Missouri
6. TCU
7. Utah
8. Wisconsin
9. Oklahoma
10. Stanford
Undefeated Report:
So long Sooners, Cowboys, and Tigers (LSU subspecies). Only seven teams remain with an unblemished record, and there is only one possible matchup of undefeated teams left before the bowls (TCU-Utah)
Missouri at Nebraska: This game hinges on which Cornhusker team shows up. If they are truly back, I don't like the Tigers chances at all. I think the Huskers are truly back, but I'm not certain... Chances of Missouri victory: 25%
Michigan State at Iowa: Get past this game, and it is likely smooth sailing towards a 12-0 season for the Spartans. The Spartans! I honestly can't wrap my head around that. Plus, I think Iowa bounces back from their loss to Wisky... 30%
TCU at UNLV:>99%
Utah at Air Force: The only potential stumbling block remaining in the inevitable clash of the Utes and the Frogs next month. The Falcons looked bad against the Frogs yesterday, and Utah has been no less dominant. 90%
Oregon at USC: The Trojans are playing for pride; the Ducks, for a perfect season. The Ducks have looked like a legit #1 team all season, but have played only one truly good team so far. USC is not a truly good team, but they are just dangerous enough to make this interesting. 60%
Auburn at Ole Miss: It is never easy going on the road in the SEC, and this looks like a classic trap game. But, the Tigers are really, really, REALLY good, their QB is so far ahead in the Heisman that no one else is visible, and the Rebels are pretty terrible. 85%
Boise State vs. Louisiana Tech: This game is on Tuesday this week. (?) The Broncos won't play again until the first weekend of November (when the Warriors visit). Insofar as this game is concerned? See above re: TCU-UNLV. >99%
This week spells curtains for Mizzou and MSU, and Oregon will have a game on its hands but will triumph."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

I'm not sure how your response is supposed to be responsive to mine. Whether you agree with Oregon's ranking doesn't really factor how the BCS mechanism works. I'm seriously not trying to be a dick. I'm honestly confused by your responses, unless you mean it's odd that I wouldn't just chalk it up to "Sloww doesn't understand how the BCS works". That may be a valid point.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

What is so hard to believe about BCS moving the number 2 team to number 1 when they win and the existing number 1 loses? Yet again, let me say that I don't think Oregon deseves 1 OR 2. So, what is your point? Just an attempt to bash me? Whatever.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Sloww, the BCS doesn't so ANYTHING other than spit out the results it gets by mixing eight different rankings together per a mathematical formula. Two of those rankings do the same thing with 60 or so voters. So 125 independent actors submit their rankings, and the BCS simply processes them and spits out the results. There is no BCS decision making apparatus for ranking teams, much less a monolithic one. Saying "the BCS will move X to Y" is inane for that reason. My point is that your reasoning is similarly inane.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

Finally, Boise in the title game. Yet another week where the number one will fall. I'm a bit worried though. Awbrun wasn't ranked ahead of Boise? They must be for real then.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
