    • Seeing as I had OSU ranked 13th last week, they only fall 6 spots. Huskers fall 6 to 16. Air Force and Nevada also stay ranked. Seminoles finally get ranked this week, along with West Virginia, the first ranked team from the Big East. Edit, damn Nevada.

      1. Boise St 6-0
      2. TCU 7-0
      3. Utah 6-0
      4. Oregon 6-0
      5. Auburn 7-0
      6. LSU 7-0
      7. Oklahoma 6-0
      8. Oklahoma St 6-0
      9. Missouri 6-0
      10. Michigan St 7-0
      11. Nevada 6-1
      12. Stanford 5-1
      13. Arizona 5-1
      14. Alabama 5-1
      15. Kansas St 5-1
      16. Nebraska 5-1
      17. Iowa 5-1
      18. Wisconsin 5-1
      19. Ohio St 5-1
      20. Northwestern 5-1
      21. Florida St 6-1 (Hello Seminoles!)
      22. West Virginia 5-1 (Hello Big East!)
      23. Air Force 5-2
      24. UTEP 5-2
      25. Baylor 5-2 (Look who's back)

      • Ultimately, I think only the Cowboys go down, leaving us with seven undefeated squads.
The Bruins beat Texas. Texas disregarded them, they could take down another national championship contender. This is a bad week for trap games. Boise, TCU and Utah go through, as well as two BCS teams, LSU and Oklahoma. Of the trap games, the Spartans go down, but Oklahoma St, and Oregon roll on.

That being said, 5 BCS undefeateds going down, including Oregon would make BCS cry. They'd have to put Les Miles and Mizzou in their title game.

        • Not really - Mizzou doesn't have a shot in hell at winning the Big XII. Oklahoma has it locked up. Even if Mizzou did run the table, miraculously, they are still too weak of a team to put them over, say, a 1 loss Alabama.

          • That is the conventional wisdom. We shall see. I agree, I think Oklahoma will still win. I think OK has a solid shot at an undefeated schedule, and it's why I think the BCS will bump them up solidly this week to reflect their hopes. Perhaps as high as 2, I would suspect to keep Boise locked in at three. Is Mizzou a mirage? I have them at 9. I just don't know about them.

              So WAC>MWC>Pac 10>SEC>Big 12>Big 10?

EDIT: But wait, Ben! Baylor shouldn't be ranked under your system. The two-loss teams should go:

              23. Hawaii 5-2
              24. Fresno State 4-2
              25. Air Force 5-2

And, as you describe the system, you'd still have to get through UTEP, USC, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Arkansas before you could rank Baylor (above Texas, at that). Your Cinderella fetish is pathetic.

Laugh all you want but I never had either Bama or OSU as number 1.

The only thing more painful than watching Ohio State lose is seeing Ben's ridiculous rankings.

                      • Oregon ranked #1 in the AP and Coaches polls! Woohoo!

Full polls aren't up yet on ESPN, but they have the headline.

I don't think they'll lose to UCLA. Not at home, not after a bye week. I think their biggest threat now is USC, given what they just did to Cal at the Coliseum. If the Ducks suffer a loss in the regular season, it will be that one.

                        • It absolutely boggles the mind that OSU is ranked ahead of Wisconsin in the Coaches' poll. Un****ingexcusable.

                          • No it's not. Sometimes the better team looses. It's called an upset. Just because the Badgers beat OSU on Saturday, doesn't mean they are better than them. It just means they beat them on Saturday. Even as a Badger fan, I still think OSU is the better team.

                            • Be that as it may, Wisconsin has the same record as OSU, with only one loss, to a higher-ranked undefeated team. What we "think" is one thing; the fact is that Wisky beat Brutus, and should (for the moment) be ranked ahead of them.

                              • Oh, sweet irony. In the first week of the BCS Standings, Boise State is #3, behind Oklahoma and Oregon, of all teams.
