Seminoles just too far behind to catch up to all the formerly undefeateds. Nebraska too good to be denied top 10.

      • The real question is how far will Alabama fall. My guess is they'll be #5, maybe #6 with Nebraska moving up.
I have them at 20 with the Cocks at 19. They are 1 loss SEC team, ranked number 4 in the SEC alone.

        • As it is, BSU's toughest opponent is 4-2 while Oregon's is 5-1. Oregon's wins still look more impressive than BSU's.
They've defeated one top 25 opponent, BSU has beaten two. Same as Utah did in defeating Pitt. Any reason why I shouldn't rank them below LSU who has beaten W.VA, North Carolina and now the Gators? Or Awbrun who beat the Cocks?

          • When are the official rankings out?

I'm glad to see that the Doox are still 6-0, but it won't last. If it does, I'll have to find a new, more underachieving, team to follow.

            • Here's a fun statistic. And by fun, I mean it makes me want to punch RichRod in the neck:

Michigan's yards per game against, starting with 2007 (Lloyd Carr's final year as coach):

              2007: 335
              2008: 367
              2009: 393
              2010: 450

And to go with those fun stats, here's an equally fun fact:

The last time Michigan beat a team that finished ranked was Lloyd Carr's final game as head coach, a not-nearly-as-close-as-it-sounds 41-35 upset throttling of the (former and future BCS Champion) Urban Meyer/Tim Tebow Florida Gators in the 2008 CapitalOne Bowl.

If anyone would like to make the case to me that RichRod shouldn't be fired if these trends continue by the end of the season, please, be my guest.

There are now 13 undefeated teams. (Goodbye Wolverines, Wildcats, Wildcats again, Wildcats again again, and Crimson Tide.)

Big 12 (4): Nebraska (vs. Texas), Oklahoma (vs. Iowa State), Oklahoma State (at Texas Tech), Missouri (at Texas A&M)
Big Ten (2): Ohio State (at Wisconsin), Michigan State (vs. Illinois)
Mountain West (2): TCU (vs. BYU), Utah (at Wyoming)
                  Pac-10 (1): Oregon (idle)
SEC (2): Auburn (vs. Arkansas), LSU (vs. McNeese State)
WAC (2): Boise State (at San Jose State), Nevada (at Hawai'i)

Alas, our first week without a matchup between undefeated teams.

However, a number of teams face tough games. The Buckeyes have to go into Camp Randall Stadium, always dangerous. The Spartans host a suddenly stout Illini. Auburn, getting by by the skin of their teeth again, host the dangerous Razorbacks. And Nevada takes a looooong flight to square off against the Warriors. But the Big 12 has the most intrigue this week, with the two "oh yeah, them" teams going on the road into Texas to face teams that can put up a lot of points, while Nebraska finally gets their shot at revenge for last year's Big 12 Championship.

I think Mizzou, Oklahoma State, Auburn, and Nevada get tripped up. The Spartans and Buckeyes struggle, but eke out wins in the closing minutes. And the Huskers blast the Horns.

Also, what's with the "finally ranked" comment you put next to Stanford? You can't even remember you ranked them #9 before?

What the **** are you talking about? Going by your own rankings, Nebraska has a more impressive win (over your #16 Kansas State) than TCU does (no wins over teams in your top-25). I know I've only been on this board for a few weeks, but you definitely seem like the biggest idiot around these parts...

TCU was at number 4. They've not moved up despite the fact that Bama lost. Instead, the Ducks and now the Huskers have moved up.

My rankings don't care who you beat. That's the whole point of them.

Obviously, we all know that so long as there are two undefeated BCS teams, they will be ranked ahead of Boise and TCU. If there aren't any undefeated teams than the top two BCS one loss teams will be ranked ahead of Boise and TCU. cc

As for Oregon State, explain to me why the Gators are ranked, and Oregon State is not, despite the fact that Oregon's States only losses are to Boise and TCU.
