For the most part, one's team offensive production has no bearing or correlation with another team's offensive production
Just read this as I went off on a different tangent about your post...

You are VERY much correct in these three sentences. It is one of the big iritations I have about trying to produce a 'realistic' FF game. I have designed rules to include IDP, but getting the gang of league members together to simply make a trade (much less sweeping changes allowing for IDP) is nearly impossible (that is the other major concern I have about my league. Alot of the member only care about it for about 2 hours before gametime on Sunday).

      • I'm still focused on this week. Starting Cutler on two teams, both with outcomes in doubt.
Please let Cutler's first two weeks not have been a mirage!

I'm undefeated in my league for money and I face off against what looks to be the only other 3-0 team next week. I wish I still had Ryan Grant My team would be so good then. So much for MRT and his advice to throw in the towel

However, I don't think I'll start Fitz again. Maclin, Murphy, and Gaffney all look like better options than Fitz.

Oh and getting pressure on Cutler will be the key for the Packers... I hope he is a mirage and gets exposed next Sunday night

            • I have a glaring weakness on my important fantasy team (I don't even care about the Apolyton one now since Sloww beat me )... I have the Ravens D which hasn't done jack with respect to fantasy. In this league, they've given me 6, 5, and 5 points. In our scoring, that's the 28th defense. The problem is even though they're one of the best defenses in real life, they're not getting sacks or turnovers. What the hell is going on? I thought the Ravens could put up the stats.

Should I stick with them or are they just a better real life D than a fantasy D?

In comparison, the Lions had 10, 10, and 9 the past three weeks.

              • Technically, I'm not playing in any DST leagues this year. But in salary cap (similar scoring), I look at turnover-based defenses, preferably with a strong return game.

That sounds like you stepped in some dog crap and can't get it off your shoe so you decide to just throw away the shoes.

                  • Got cutler in DST, down by 28 or so. Up by 33 or so in IDP, vs Cutler. Assuming the other players in these leagues don't do anything or cancel out [a big assumption but roll with me], that means that Cutler will score 26 in DST and 35 in IDP, right? (which is entirely possible given IDP allows more QB points)

LOL, indeed. He needs 14 from Hester to double you up

BTW, I'm cheering Cutler on to a huge game tomorrow night. I'm screwed in IDP no matter what happens this week - 2-12 vs 3-11 is not really that different DST, though, I have a good chance at the playoffs, and in my money league I have Cutler and an 18 point deficit (18 is probably average for a QB, 25 yds/pt 4 pts/td).

Yeah but aren't the Ravens a turnover-based team? Was that entirely because of Ed Reed alone? I find it so odd that this D could be so strong in limiting opposing offenses but still can't get sacks or turnovers for a damn.

When I drafted them, I hadn't been expecting to get them so I had done my research elsewhere but no one else seemed to want them which I found very odd but I thought of it as a boon for me. Now I'm like, where are the defensive stats?!

you mean it aint over? And I see Yahoo has added pts against as a new stat, how nice. My team sucks, I should have nabbed me a QB with my 1st pick instead of MoJo. DOH!
