Yeah, that worked great for LT.

Play the game AJ's way and he'll screw you over when he chooses instead of when you take a stand.

    • Which one of those 4 apply to VJ? I think 3.5 million bucks was a good deal for a player who is one DUI from sitting out for a YEAR.

As for LT, he left because Norv was extended and believed he wasn't being used as he ought to be. He always wanted to be the man, and Norv moved to a more passer focussed offense. The Schottenheimers understood that you get teh ball to LT in space, and he'll take it to the house. That play has been nonexistant since Norv took over.
Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

      • Hey Schottenheimer was another one who AJ Smith got rid of after doing everything right and a 14-2 season.

        • You know, in retrospect, Naanee had all the obvious signs of a guy who wouldn't pan out. He's like Aromashodu this year or DJ Hackett a few years ago... a guy who is a great physical specimen but who rides the bench for years never cracking a starting lineup yet somehow gets hyped up one offseason as the next big thing... nevermind that he has been around for a while and the team never thought enough of him to start him. (there are exceptions, Miles Austin being the most recent. Remember when Jerry Jones was hyping him up and the Jets were interested in the Jersey native but Jones had an asking price of a 1st rounder for an undrafted guy who never played before that point? And everybody laughed at Jerry Jones...)

On top of that, Naanee has the versatile college QB turned WR problem (see Randle El and Cribbs) of not really ever being a good WR (name a college QB who excelled at WR) and being a hybrid player who gets moved around all over the offense and never is actually good enough at any position.

I let the idea of Who the hell is Philip Rivers going to throw to for his 300+ yards a game? get the best of these obvious problems with Naanee.

Ben, I don't often agree with the stuff you say, but this has to be one of the best lines I have ever heard from you. Love it.

I did not say any of them did.

Stop jumping to conclusions. We both agree that VJax is a tool. I'm on the record (last summer) as saying he doesn't deserve what he's asking for. He's a union member but refuses to abide by the terms of the CBA. He deserves to get screwed.

Your comments on LT don't jive with what I've read, but frankly, I didn't track it that closely. Also, that situation was mitigated by his being injury-plagued down the stretch the past couple years.

              • With Cutler out for Week 5, I'm left with a choice of the brutal Favre vs Jets matchup, or picking up some idiot on waivers.

Should be an easy week for the Pornhuskers.

At least you're not in the D/ST league. There are literally only two QB's who are expected to start this week who are not already rostered: Todd Collins and Max Hall. I kid you not. And Cutler's obviously rostered so had he not gotten hurt, literally the only QB available on the waiver wire would be Max Hall. Think of the crappiest QB you can... Fitzpatrick, Gradkowski, Clausen, Delhomme, Shaun Hill, whoever. ALL ROSTERED.

14-team fantasy is problematic when guys have more than 2 QB's rostered... I'm looking right at the five *censored* in the D/ST league who have 3 QB's, especially "The Famous Celebrities" who are sitting on Rivers, Orton, and Ryan

                  I mean really?

                  • I'm not kidding. I double checked and counted all rostered QB's. 33 rostered QB's... Vick and Cutler are the only rostered QB's not playing or on a bye. That is ridiculous.

                    • In a 14 team league, having 5 owners with 3 QB's is not sustainable

                        • IDP was 14 teams last year -- same issue, obviously. Those who slept, wept. It doesn't especially bother me, as I normally carry only 2 QBs. Even a 12-team league can't supply 3 starting QBs to everyone. If you feel you need a third, you've got to go for him early in the draft, or be quick-like-a-bunny on the waiver wires when someone gets hurt.

                          • Obviously to me now, holding 3 QBs in a 14 player league is a good strat to hurt your opponents. Especially since i held off on QBs to load up on RBs which are not performing or are hurt or are out-for-the-season.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

                            • I'd rather use that roster spot for another RB/WR. When I have 3 viable QBs, I try to trade one as soon as any bye issues are disposed of.
