He hurt his knee late in last week's game and McGahee filled in for about the last 4-5 minutes. However, it looks like Rice will be fine. Expect McGahee to lighten Rice's load this week.

Nothing to do with anything... it just occurred to me that Denver's RBs are Moreno and Maroney.

NYJ or Pit? Remember, yards allowed is the primary factor.
On the surface, the Steelers look like a lock, as they are playing sky high. But they are actually #6 in yards allowed so far. Do I start them against the Ravens, who have been known to get their act together on occasion and put up some yards or do I go with the Jets who are playing the worst offense in the NFL?

Well I meant because their names have a similar sound to them. Moreno and Maroney. There's going to be a commentator somewhere this season stumbling over their names.

This is why I don't like any of your analysis. At least you're over here posting questions so you are aware it is lacking
Quick question. Who last week had more offensive yards?
Baltimore against Cleveland?
Buffalo against New England?
I'll spare you the trouble of looking it up. Buffalo had 9 more offensive yards against New England than Baltimore had against Cleveland.
Now, 9 yards is nothing so they were effectively the same but the Bills did it on 6 less plays than Baltimore and also had that CJ Spiller kick return which took away a possession. There is also the matter of how the Patriots defense stacks up against the Cleveland defense. I think the Cleveland D is a lot better than people think but NE had a better reputation.
The Bills offense clearly is not as bad as it seems unless you want to make the judgement that the NE D is really that bad (which it may actually be).
Still, you got to go with the D facing the team without the weapons so Jets.

Kickers. I have Lawrence Tynes who missed 2 field goals last week and has given me point totals of 7, 2, and 6. Robbie Gould and Janikowski are on the waiver wire. I don't know how to feel about rooting for the Bears to score field goals on my Giants (which is a mixed bag since I would be rooting for them NOT to score TD's), but how is Gould? He seems like he gets his chances (albeit from short range, no 50+ yarder and only 1 40+ yarder) and the Bears don't really have a goal-line offense. Drop Tynes for Gould? How is Gould?
I really have no idea how to analyze kickers. You figure strong offense without a big goal-line back or tight end but field goal chances seem so random.

You analyze kickers in one of two ways: One, big offense (don't worry about goal line back - that doesn't make as much difference as you'd think); and two, kickoff distance. More kickoff distance = more leg = longer FG makes/tries.
Gould is the third most accurate kicker of all time; and I think the most accurate under 40. Accuracy is not normally consistent across kickers, but Gould has it nonetheless. The Bears do have trouble scoring TDs, and Gould usually gets a couple of FGs a game. # of FGA though is fairly random - as is length (why you don't just go for long kickers). Length gives you more FGA, though (Gould won't be kicking a FG if the Bears have 4th and a mile on the NYG 38, but Gostkowski would). I think Gould > Tynes, but who knows. Really, don't try to analyze kickers too much.

Well Gould has a longer average kickoff than Tynes as well as being more accurate. The thing is, I am a believer in kicker being the position you just get and leave but that idea has always left me lacking in the kicking department. I swear every time I play fantasy, I have the 24th-28th fantasy kicker. Right now, Tynes is the 24th fantasy kicker. In a 10 team league that's atrocious. There's not much rhyme or reason to it since it's so opportunity-based. I guess I have to switch to Gould then but it seems so random that I'm not sure Gould will be an improvement and that Tynes won't suddenly start kicking all these 50 yarders.
It's the same thing with D/ST and how the Ravens are ranked 28th in my league's format. Like what the hell? There's points I'm losing out on by having these crappy D/ST and kicker.
