This is what I do. I set my roster, thinking "OK, fine. I'll start this worthless bastard. Piece of garbage." It's like reverse cheering for. So far, so good.

Perfect example. He's the guy I referenced before the weekend. A kick returner, and he scored twice his projected.

I very nearly picked up amendola last week, at the last minute decided I couldn't afford the roster spot on a Ram. He looked nice in action last week as a WR, and Bulger is doing pretty well all of a sudden... definitely a good pick [and a prime example of how 'managing by projections' is dumb].

Definitely think I want to explore reducing/eliminating KRYDs specifically. PRyds are 'tough' even at 1 yard, but KRyd below 20 are just silly. 1 pt/10yds over 20 would be optimal, I think, but I doubt yahoo! allows that.

Ben, you did a good job drafting, and got a bit lucky with the Chargers' D sucking enough to force Rivers to throw constantly. I still think you'll get burned in the three rounds of playoffs with one bad week for the Chargers' O, but until/unless that happens you'll do well in the regular season. Also has a bit to do with your matchups (I'm 2-4, hopefully 3-4, with around the same total points; same for Deviations, and DDD will be 2-5 with less than 50 fewer points...)

I don't think it has much to do with your week to week management though, either way. Yahoo! projections are pretty crappy, and there's very little you could do worse than manage by them [case in point, mr. amendola]. They don't take into account much in terms of 'new' information, just fairly baseline things. If you have a decent knowledge of football, you can usually do better.

My goodness, defensive powerhouses.

I've survived the Chargers brutal opener (BAL, at PIT, MIA) and their bye week, all without access to LDT. I'm not worried about the playoffs should I make it there.

Truthfully, a couple things saved my ass. Willis McGahee being a TD beast was probably my best draft pick. Antoine Bethea was huge for me with Sanders + Polamalu out. Austin Collie + Delhomme + Shiancoe all helped me from the waiver wire.

we need kr yd in this league, 14 managers makes for almost nothing on the waiver wire. I tend to agree krs get a bit too much, but 10 pts for 200 ret yds aint all that imbalancing, that'd be 6.67 at 30 yds a pt.
