    When over half the teams make the playoffs, and some of them with terrible records, the regular season is kind of meaningless
    The NHL I grew up with was 16/21 = WIN!

          That would be funny if he loses the Cup with the Wings, the year after losing it with the Pens.

          He did leave for a good reason though, none of them wanted to play for Therrien. Has a team ever made it to the Cup Finals after firing the coach? or, in between two Cup Finals?? (not that a coach really matters all that much anyway)

                            well.....

                            its tough to make it to the finals period and for a team that has not even been in the playoffs in recent history, they did quite well. Conventional wisdom is a team NEEDS to taste a little playoff adversity before being able to win it all

                            The Hawks have a LOT of hope for the future-- I'd be shocked if they are not an even bigger force in the playoffs next year

                              Great experience for Huet tonight despite the outcome.
