    He wasn't successful!!!!!!

He was successful in the CFL against people that couldn't make it in the NFL or Arena Football.

    • He started. Now, he's making more on TV than on the field. What do you people want?
He could buy you and throw you away and never notice. I want to be unsuccessful, too.

What does that have to do with anything?

He's rich and has his charity. I'm not disparaging the person.

        He wasn't a great quarterback.

Why do you keep knocking Obama? He's rich, can buy you, throw you away and wouldn't even notice.

100 tds isn't successful? I'd hate to see a failure.

He was successful in the CFL against people that couldn't make it in the NFL or Arena Football.
He was dominant in the CFL in the way no one else has or since.

Dominant in the CFL, Successful in the NFL = Great QB.

              • Thanks, but that's not the only criteria. For instance, Flutie is ahead of such people as Stabler, Norm Van Brocklin, Sid Luckman Sammy Baugh and Y.A. Tittle.
Do you see the problem in using simply passer ratings? I don't think stats of any kind mean all. This list certainly doesn't. Ten are ahead of Brady and 47 are ahead of Unitas.
The whole list is evidence of the flaw in using it.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

                • I never said it was the ultimate guide. I included it to put some perspective on things. Granted, there are many other factors, such as leadership and the ability to win. Two things Flutie didn't excell at in his NFL time

                    • The Falcons are making me sad .

Oh well, if anyone told me a year ago, I'd be sad the Falcons couldn't reach the second round the playoffs, I'd call 'em crazy.

Actually they were. Good enough for a Super Bowl. And as I stated, that is just one of the factors.
McMahon had both leadership skills and knew how to win. Something Flutie NEVER had in the NFL.

It's not over yet... they are only down by 6 with plenty of time left. You give up hope so easily
