Well they played awful, but that awfulness was mitigated by the fact it was on PPV, and the majority of Canuck fans did not see the game.

I saw the last period on PPV. I knew it was a Canucks game because the announcers sounded bored to tears.

You pay for Canuck games?

Never. I get NHL Centre Ice, which shows PPV games if it's the only feed available.

Flames led 3-0 over Atlanta and then blew it to lose 6-4. Its one of the few times the Flames have blown a lead

I didn't see it, but I'm told the team looked exhausted and looked most exhausted as the game went on. And Cujo was not on his game at all.

Cujo was not great--
The team had spurts of energy even in the third-- Heck tied at 4-4 they were clearly carrying play for the 3-4 minutes before Atlanta came down and scored the winner

I know road back to backs can be tough but Atlanta is a team you need to put away

In the east-

I am sure we will be hearing the Toronto playoff hype but its still almost an impossible road- Their current 7-2-1 run is impressive but if Philly plays exactly .500 hockey down the stretch, Toronto would need to go 8-2 just to tie them in points. If Philly goes 7-5 or 6-4-2 or whatever, Toronto needs a 9-0-1 run.

I just wish they would lose already!!!


In the west is there anyone that doesn't think Edmonton/Chicago and Columbus are done? -- Too far back with too many teams to chase.

But look at Phoenix!!! They are still in it and are with Nashville pretty much on Vancouver and Calgary's heels. THe Flames have wasted two opportunities now on this road trip in games they could or perhaps should have won

Not worried about Phoenix. They have 7 games against San Jose, Dallas and Anaheim.

It's pretty much still a battle between Vancouver, Nashville and Calgary, with one of the teams looking on the inside-out.

Interesting... an argument could be made from the two angles I saw that he just got caught up with his skate, but the telling would be I suppose if any damage was done to the leg of Kessler. If he did it hard enough to bruise or tear the skin then it's certainly intentional IMO...

The new angles that came out the other day clearly showed him looking down and pressing is skate into the leg of Kesler. I don't care if he was trying to just get away and get leverage, he knew exactly where his foot was going...8 games is light.

Hmm, I didn't see an angle that showed that, but I only looked at a couple. He clearly looked down, but I thought his skate came up at that point - but I think it was ultimately unclear, and that's probably why they gave him only 8 games (ie, no playoff games).
