    I went back to go read some comments from Calgary fans after the Keenan trade and they all say the same thing, that this was an interim thing to toughen the team up after Playfair. All of them said they didn't want Keenan back for more then a year, even if they agreed that it was a good deal.
    You're full of ****, Ben. I know a LOT more Flames fans than you, guaranteed, and I'm an active member of the Flames blogosphere and I've never heard this opinion before...

      I think he will bring some players to the next level needed to compete against the Anaheim-type of teams. Same as Carlyle did for the Ducks. We will find out how talented some of the players are. This is a good short term project until we get a long term coach like Brent Sutter.
      Sounds like some people have lost faith in Sutter in one big hurry! Darryl knows Keenan's history as well as anyone does. He needs Mikey in here for one year to whip the team into shape and take a run at the Stanley Cup because at the end of this year the Flames have to fish or cut bait with Iginla, Kiprusoff, Regehr and other 'core' members when their contracts come up. This isn't a long term solution..............it's a NOW solution.
      Who knows what the thinking is. I'm suffering from coffee overdose so bear with me: maybe he's there to light a fire under the Flames (who are only flickering sadly, if you ask me) to get them roaring into shape...he's not there for a long time, just enough to crack the whip a bit, get them on their toes, whip them into shape mentally, and get them ready for a better coach (a Sutter type). IMO, attitude and poor game strategy are the Flames' problems, not individual skill. Pyschology is what's going on here.
      That's three comments all saying the same thing out of 30 some comments.

      You are welcome to call it bull****, but if you've never heard this opinion from flames fans you obviously live in an echo chamber or your connections aren't as good as you say they are.

          There are some Calgary fans who believe that Keenan was a short term deal and they all give the same argument.

          I don't believe all Calgary fans think the same thing, that would be retarded.

          I was saying that of those who think Keenan was a short term deal, that they give the same argument, that it was done to toughen the team after Playfair.

            Oh, and for snoopy:

            A Chicago loss or a Vancouver win dooms the team.

            Assuming Chicago gets 88 points, they do not have tiebreakers over Edmonton. If Vancouver loses all of their games, and Chicago loses one, Edmonton will have two points and the tiebreaker.

            Chicago can get in with 3 wins or 2 wins and an OT loss against Detroit, if the following happens:

            Vancouver loses at least twice, and loses in OT in their third game.

            Nashville wins one and loses one.

            Edmonton wins one and loses one.

              Jeepers. I am actually nervously anticipating tonights game. Not sure what to expect, I am sure both teams would love to win for themselves primarily, but as long time provincial rivals would love to beat each other, if only to help prevent each other from their goals.

              Gametime! Not sure what to expect, but it should be interesting!

                It's a huge game, to say the least. Who isn't anxious right now? You'd have to be a fool to feel confident right now for either team.

                  Well, that should've been a 5-3 for Calgary but I can't fault the refs too much for not wanting to decide the game with a 5-3.
