I'm in Montana right now--- Its only a couple of hours from Alberta but I feel like I have fallen off the face of the planet as far as hockey coverage goes

The Oil are playing well tonight against Dallas.

Oil drops a 4-1 decision-- it was one of those encouraging and discouraging games. They played pretty good and took the play to Dallas for large portions of the game including holding a 1-0 lead for a big chunk of the game-- But Turco was really good early and Dallas managed 2 PP goals and then shut the OIl down-- end result was another OIl loss but I think they gave a good account of themselves

Flames fall to the Stars 2-1 in a game in which they were very defensively sound ( both goals were bad angle things) and had lots of chances but Turco was EXCELLENT-

So the Stars win 2 in Alberta even though they were never dominant or even impressive

Montreal is playing Ottawa twice this week. If we win, we pry the first rank from them.

I'm a bigger Montreal fan than even Calgary and I just don't see this team doing it in the playoffs. I do not think they have addressed their need for better size/toughness. Perhaps I am being unduly harsh since I watched them blow a 3-0 lead and lose 5-3 to the Rangers yesterday when the physical intensity got ratcheted up.

Also as much as I love the skills of a Kovalev, I just don't trust him to 'be there" when it matters-- I actually have similar worries about Huselius in Calgary
