Sigh... He's carried my team to 5 straight victories... oh well, that's fantasy. Injuries and how you deal with them is half the game.
I'm not entirely sure how to deal with this one

That lineman that batted the ball on Manning's interception looked like a dancing bear. Not Chicago, just a bear.

Let's start a pool on how long Jag's QB Gray will have a job.
Yes, it's Indy. No, his passes are nowhere close.
I know what Chicago can do with Grossman.

The thing that struck me the most about the Bears game is how Hester was able to affect the game w/o touching the ball for 58+ minutes. As a returner, his presence alone gave us an extra 10-15 yards per kickoff. I know other teams kicked away from him but Philly did it all day. And you can't say that they were thinking the offense couldn't play b/c they had deep drives. This is beyond respect, this is being afraid. He's the equivalent of the guy you intentionally walk in baseball b/c you're afraid he'll homer. Did Sayers command that level of attention? Has any other player?

It's pretty sad that he doesn't know the playbook. But Hester's presence clearly keeps the extra defender out of the box. That's pure gold.
Kind of like Bob "World's Fastest Human" Hayes back in the day, affecting defenses with just the threat of speed. Even though he had average-to-bad hands, ran poor routes and didn't block well, defenses had to account for him.

Yeah Hayes was only responsible for zone defense. Check back with me when Hester does something.
Although, being declared better than Sayers is something. Something ludicrous.

I think Hester has had a couple of accomplishments.
And the Sayers comment was an actual question, not a declaration. The only knowledge I have of Sayers comes from the Bears website.

The whole reason Hester's seen such limited snaps is that he does not have a full grasp of the playbook. It was talked about in training camp. Instinctive player but not the sharpest knife in the drawer, kind of thing. That, and his limitations as a blocker.
Certainly you saw him cost the Bears a timeout, not knowing where to line up on a key 3rd down play. Hester himself was even quoted in the paper today:
Though denied opportunities as a returner, Hester caught three passes for 41 yards, including a 21-yard reception with 30 seconds left on the Bears' final 97-yard drive.
Muhsin Muhammad, who caught the winning touchdown pass, helped position Hester at the line of scrimmage throughout the game.
"We were in certain situations where our positions switch," Hester said. "Some of the plays I didn't know. Moose helped me out a little bit, and we came out with the win."
The Bears had to burn a timeout when Hester misunderstood a play called in the huddle.
