IMHO it seems like a matter of the President Losing once again. He tried to enforce his will, and failed miserably.
They really gave him no choice, because if he hadn't signed the Covid and Spending Bills, and he shut the government down and denied help, he would have looked stupid and continued to look like he doesn't give a damn about anybody.

I did read it. It's a bunch of self-serving BS. He calls COVID the "China virus," blames Democrats for economic issues, takes credit for throwing money at the problem (Warp Speed) while ignoring all the harm he did by undermining his scientists. He makes multiple false claims, like: having a line-item veto ability that doesn't exist in fact; stating that the House and Senate will "focus strongly" on voter fraud; and claiming that Congress committed to "substantially changing" Section 230 when they have done nothing of the sort. It's 100% lies, and has nothing to do with the intent of the actual legislation, which was delivered exactly as Mnuchin was told to structure it.

Trump just wants chaos; he doesn't give a damn about any of this stuff except for ways in which it might enrich him personally -- say, by suing news organizations and social media companies after he's a private citizen. He is a dangerous man, and we are all fortunate that he's so incompetent.

He tried to make a grand stand play to look like he actually cares about people, and probably knowing it would fail, and then finally had to cave in because if he didn't he would totally look like he didn't care.
