I think that handling the virus and getting the economy back up again is all about the working class.

I'm college educated, but I've been working class most of my life. Most of use don't wear masks unless forced. And those who do don't really see it as all that important. They help a little bit. The working class doesn't trust the news, except in blue cities. The working class Brooks is talking about is those in the rust belt.

Yes the economy matters, especially jobs. But Biden didn't give specifics. I guess that's Brooks' opinion. I didn't watch the whole thing.

They help protect you, but more importantly protects others... But that's right, we know you don't give a crap about others.
People are "forced" to wear seat belts, and now only the occasional moron screams about how it's tyranny. And they really only protect the wearer.
But when it comes to protecting others, all of a sudden it's tyranny... yeah, right. It shows your true colors. Just like Trump... ME ME ME ME, and screw everybody else

            • Has anyone suggested that nuclear bombs be used to stop the two hurricanes currently bearing down on the Gulf states? A genius suggested it could work. Trump should try it!

                    • A lot of models like 538 purposefully look for and ignore convention bounces.

That being said, I haven't read anything about a. convention bounce (isn't this too early for such a poll to come out anyway?) but I have read about a 5% gain in Biden's favorability.

It is The Hill, not my favored source.

                      • Here is a better source:
The Democratic National Convention, with a smaller audience than 2016, still delivered a favorability boost for Joe Biden, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds.

Biden went from 40/43 (favorable/unfavorable) to 45/40. At this stage in 2016 Hillary was 48/50.

In the same poll, Trump has moved from 35/58 to 32/60.

                        • Sorry, I spoke to soon.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...eral/national/ has a Biden uptick. Once more, they model the convention bounce so that it impacts them less. They give a change from 8 to 9.2. The latest poll (mostly after the convention) is Biden +10.

in actual who are you going to vote for polls, which are different from favorability, Biden’s numbers are flat. To compare Trump’s numbers went up during the DNC convention meaning lots of people didn’t like what they saw in the convention. Also beware of national poll numbers, that was the mistake so many people made in 2016, because the real race is in the swing states and Trump is either tied or in the lead in most of those.

Lastly, Antifa/BLM riots (now approaching every night for 90 days) really is effecting poll numbers in effected areas. MN is now evenly split even though the state hasn’t gone red in the last 52 years. The riots in WI seem to be doing the same thing; pushing people to vote red. The Dems have totally screwed up when they decided to financially and organizationally back the Antifa riots as it is turning lots of people against Democrats.
