Government spending will rise, hn the tax bill comes through.
But not on things that raise the GDP, but rather on the steep rise in interests that the USA have to pay due to the large increase in state debts that are the result of the tax bill

And some people don't seem to grasp that it is a simplicistic model that also is dependant on several conditions ... one of them being, for example, a closed national economy.
          Or, simply said:
In a global economy demand can be satisfied by buying goods from outside.
Likewise copmpanies may invest their money in other nations instead of the own one
(india comes into my mind ... AFAIK US companies love to outsorce work to this country ...
or China ... Ivanka IIRC lets all of their fashion get produced there ... and isn't even a part of Trumps MAGA merchandise produced in CHina or Taiwan (instead of making america great again)? )

The fact of it being an open economy is irrelevant. There is no rational way to believe that cutting taxes causes stagflation. The openness of the economy certainly doesn't cause stagflation when taxes are cut. Cutting taxes has NEVER resulted in stagflation. You are absolutely talking non-sense out of your rear.

In all these years, Kid has never offered us his deep expertise in macroeconomics.
Fortunately for us all, the wait is over.

Indeed. But GDP doesn't care. So long as government spending increases so will GDP.

But not on things that raise the GDP, but rather on the steep rise in interests that the USA have to pay due to the large increase in state debts that are the result of the tax bill
Probably the largest flaw of GDP are the Keynesian assumptions that are a part of it. You know that not all government spending is beneficial to the economy. I know that not all government spending is a benefit to the economy, but GDP doesn't care. Ergo it is not a great measure of economic growth. Given that all government spending is simply redistribution of income already earned, it's not clear to me that any form of government spending ought to contribute to the growth of the economy when all you're doing is shuffling money around. How is this creating wealth?
