    so, in other words:

he won because what he represents is most in tune with republican voters.
    Bull****. Total utter bull****.

Actual;ly I wasn't. I know nothing of your personal life.

My apologies if you thought I was trying to talk about your personal life. (My comment was simply spam).

Hey, there's an actual survey on the topic of spousal voting, expectations vs reality:

            • Hmm Donald has quite the lead among couples. I guess it's slightly age and income biased. But still a tad bizarre.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

              • It amazes me that roughly 40% of married women are saying they will vote for Trump.

Exactly zero of the women in my life are voting for him (AFAIK), and that includes a significant number of Republicans.

                • The only person I know fairly closely who has said they were supporting Trump is my uncle. But that came out months ago, and I'm not sure if he's still on board. His conversion to staunch Republicanism was sparked by my aunt, his wife, being brutally raped 20 years ago or so. I have to hope--HOPE--that Trump's sexual assault boasting would have permanently turned him off of the candidate, if not his previous gross and appalling comments.

                  • I live in NW Florida, basically Trump country. I heard an older guy at church say Trump had the right ideas, but that was some months ago, possibly last year. A few customers at work have made throwaway remarks to the effect that Hillary is Satan. Outside of that, well, I don't bring up politics, but anytime my wife or I have heard anyone mention the race it's been something along the lines of "God, I hate both of them so much." We just see Trump signs more because they hate her more? Dunno. We have seen a few Hillary signs in the past couple of weeks. Mostly, though, we see signs for local candidates. The new sheriff is a big deal. Trump vs. Clinton? Nobody brings it up. Too depressing.

                        • Neither I or my wife will be voting for Trump...

Interesting opinion piece in the Chicago Tribune today. Illinois will go for Hillary so they recommend that Repubs vote for the green candidate.
The Trib already has endorsed the Libertarian candidate. Their logic is that the endorsement will probably get the Libs 5% of the vote. And now they want to get the greens to 5%.

This way, both parties will be given full party status in future Illinois' elections. They will be able to run a full slate of candidates without jumping through all the hoops they have had to in the past.

I like it. So I guess instead of voting for Mickey Mouse, I will vote for the green candidate for prez... What's her name again

                          • I don't know anyone in real life voting for Trump, but I do encounter Trump supporters at work. There are three species of customer who call in and, in addition to ordering things, express their political sentiments. The first are the Clinton supporters, who simply end the call by going, "Vote Hillary!" and then hang up. I don't get what they think this accomplishes, but it's relatively harmless at least. The second species is the Trump supporter, who almost always feels the need, extemporaneously and without prompting, to explain why they're voting for Trump. It's usually something about immigrants, corruption, or safety. The third species it the unhinged ranter, who is usually anti-someone rather than for anybody. These are the callers we usually have to stop taking calls from, because they regard our staunch unwillingness to engage them in political debate as support for whoever they oppose, and then the cursing and conspiracy thinking begins. There are people on both ends of the spectrum who behave this way, but at least the anti-Trumpists usually aren't racists.

                              • The air that is coming here is that trump is a semi fascist but detached from established vested interests.

clinton is corrupt as **** and established with establisted vested interests.

those that are in the know (and the take), want clinton but there is a vast number of people that are not in the know (and the take) and want the semi fascist
