Which explains why Texas moved up a spot to 13th? Texas passed Virginia and Oregon to become the strongest state in the South, if you don't count Maryland.
And California is at sixth and climbed several spots. And now is at the cusp of overtaking the UK at fifth. Your math sucks as does your logic. Four of the largest ports in the country are in California.
And I didn't realize Oregon was in the south. That must be the Ben logic people talk about.

Yeah Castro has seemed likely for a while now. Can't see Hillary wanting a progressive in the VP role, especially one like Warren who has no problem openly speaking her mind.
Castro is progressive too, but I think him being picked over Warren is because of the way the Senate is right now. Warren leaving her seat could allow the Republican governor in that state to pick a republican to fill in. It would make it harder for the democrats to take the Senate.

Texas is not doing fine. It is not very diverse economically and lost a lot of jobs. Most of those jobs created as seasonal and lower end employment. California's job and income growth has overstripped Texas for about four years now.
Deal with it. California is the better state. We don't elect morons as governors. What was the last good Texas governor? Ann Richards?

Our economy is taking off and a lot faster than the rest of the nation thanks to the IT Sector and Aerospace Industries. Aerospace is having a major boom in California. These are sectors Texas simply doesn't have and can't compete with us in.
California's economy will grow faster this year than the national economy, and unemployment will drop to 5% in early 2017, according to a new report by the UCLA Anderson Forecast.
"In 2016, personal income in California will grow 3.6%, compared with 4.5% in 2015, the report said."
Personal incomes have shot up across the state. Personal incomes have been stagnant in other states.
