wow. you think it's comically obvious that Stalin's mass deportations were a result of Stalin's xenophobia or do you just find Stalin's mass deportations comically funny in general? I actually think they were entirely motivated by a desire to protect his power and control.

Currently it takes over 20 years to immigrate as an Indian. I believe this has also been true ( for some time ) for Mexicans. It is more efficient ( and sure ) to have a child in the US, wait until they are 18, and then they can get you a green card as close family.

That is pretty broken.

It's not broken, it's functioning as intended.

Democrat leadership gets to pretend they care about the oppressed illegals.

Republican leadership get to pretend they care about border security and American workers.

Both parties get to further divide the working class/voters on another wedge issue. Thus both parties can stay in power no matter how awful they are because "lesser of two evils".

Rich donors to both parties get cheap exploitable labor with no legal protections, and a divided working class that won't unify to demand a reasonable distribution of wealth.

Working mostly. Just quietly working my 9 to 5. I'm a manager now. It's been a pretty peaceful life the last four years or so.

Life has been very good to me the last while, so I can't complain.

Geronimo, historically, Christianity has been a force against slavery and by and large the reason why slavery at least chattel slavery disappeared is because of Christianity. I'm not sure why that statement is considered racist, as Christianity is not a race. The interesting thing to me is why people are so determined to blame Christians for the legacy of slavery when they were the ones who ended it in the 19th century.

Lots of different cultures and religions had slavery throughout history. From that we can conclude it is remarkable for a culture to oppose slavery, not that they joined with the countless cultures that found it beneficial to enslave others in the pursuit of their goals.

Islam in particular is a culture that has a long history of slavery throughout it's existence. Again, Islam isn't a race, and making truthful statements about the history of a particular religion hardly racist. The problem is that stating uncomfortable truths isn't something that is truly welcomed in these days.

Do the crime, suffer the loss of your civil liberties. There's no excuse for it, Albert. Everyone has a choice. If you grew up in a bad neighbourhood, and you choose to commit a crime, you should expect to be punished for it.

Whining about how it is unfair, I don't have much sympathy. What makes you so special that you believe the rules do not apply to you?
