The Slava class cruiser is a design from the late 1960s. If they fire on any NATO aircraft it would be sunk virtually immediately. The Turks could do this by themselves without the help of any other NATO powers.

It really does bring out the worst jingoistic dick-waving from otherwise reasonably sane people! Stop embarrassing yourselves like children getting hard-ons over the prospect of an escalation!
overly warhawk people from both sides have been posturing with their tiny penises. Now some of their pawns have got broken and killed and WWIII is touted like everyone wants it to go down in the playground.
No wonder Syria is ****ed up and will be for the foreseeable future.
Nothing will come of this as everyone is ultimately too chicken**** to do anything about it.
Nothing to see here, especially not paiktis, PLATO and oerdin's little nationalist penises!

The common sense doesn't exist for you any longer, you have a collective ministry of truth to tell what is right and what is wrong. And you are happy to eat this sh!t.
So, let's finish it. Really. Humans have become idiots and need a self-destruct. Bring it on, motherf*ckers.

That was a well prepared trap. Everything Turkey is saying is nothing, but a bullsh!t. We have radar data which shows Russian plane was in Syrian air space and that was Turkish plane, which entered Syrian air space to shot it down. Even, if we assume, every BS Turks are saying is true, then according to THEIR OWN DATA, their, Turkish, the Russian plane was in Turkish air space for just a FEW seconds.
FOR SIXTY YEARS NATO-Russia relationships in the air have never seen something like this. We had hundreds, if not thousands of violations of airspace of each other, but nobody have pulled a trigger. Especially for a supposed violation, which lasted for seconds and possessed no OBVIOUS threat for the owner of the air space ('cause Turkey KNEW exactly what Russian plane was doing in Syria and that its targets are in Syrian soil, not in Turkey).
It's a f*cking act of war.
You want it, you'll get it.
Seriously.
Dig your f*cking bomb shelter, idiots.

But, you still don't get it. The Korean plane didn't response no matter what. No radio contact. No reply to visual warnings. They have ignored warning shots as well. It just kept flying. And it doesn't took few seconds, that continued for about an hour or more - DEEP INSIDE the Soviet air space. The plane did not react to any kinds of warnings, not for a few seconds, but while it crossed the distance about the half size of Europe.
Keep laughing about Soviets were serious about a kind of threat a civilian plane could posses.
Then remember 911 and keep laughing louder.

I guess it just didn't make it (like so many other things didn't) on to the troll fact sheet of the day you get from your troll factory masters."I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. Which after being warned time and again, why Turkey shot down your plane, stupid.
