Sorry, I was off. It was 135k.

There's been multiple cases already. So, arrogant douchbag authoritarians? Look in the mirror. What's next, yellow crosses sewn to our jackets?
"First they fined us for not baking a cake, then they put us in concentration camps." It's the next logical step.

      that's nice, but:

On Sunday, one of Ireland's most senior Catholic clerics called for the Church to take a "reality check" following the vote.
Diarmuid Martin, Archbishop of Dublin, said the Church in Ireland needed to "reconnect" with young people.
he sees what's happening, but i doubt there's much that can be done about it now. perhaps we'll see legalised abortion next in ireland.

        • I contribute and I very very rarely attend. And due to that the church is very interested in me. (based on all the communications and solicitations.)

The church needs more members like me. I contribute more and require fewer resources than people like you. Win win.

Yeah, sure. You want to change the church into something she's not. The Church would lose more catering to you than they would to me, long run. That's been the case for the UMC, for the PCUSA, for the Episcopalians, etc.

Each of these churches have lost a third of their members.

Are you donating enough to make up for a third of the entire congregation? As well as future donations from their families?

It's been said before, exact same quote from Napoleon. How did that work out, Cockney?

Interesting, Loinburger. So you support a 135k fine levied against a Christian businesswoman? Personally I find that douchebag authoritarianism.

                  • I'm not convinced that Ben is capable of love for anything besides abstractions
Curious that a childless and presumably unmarried loinburger would levy that accusation.

Prior to this thread I thought that the fine was inappropriate, but if supporting the fine will prevent you from fighting the Muslims then I'll gladly support the fine.

You believe that it's only possible to love a wife and children? Seeing as how you lack both I'll take this as your tacitly admitting that you don't love anything other than abstractions like "family" and "freedom (to own guns)." I, on the other hand, love many people despite not having a wife and children, and do not let a love of bull**** abstractions interfere with the rest of my life.

                          • If Ben (and catholics who oppose gay marriage 'for the children') really cared about the children, they'd have adopted several already.

I know an 11 year old who was raised by a gay couple. I also know a couple dozen kids from a foster-care home for both orphans and kids removed from their parents de to abuse. I can say, without hesitation, that if I had to chose, I'd chose being the 11 year old over any of the kids in the home.

Thank you. So we have justification for our fears.

One, I'm not married. If I sincerely believed that children ought to have a father and mother who are married, I would wait until then to adopt.

Yes, because abuse never happens with gay people. Shall I pull up some stats on that? Violence is more not less likely for gays and lesbians within their relationships.
