However, New York University's Margaret Sanger Papers Project, argues that in writing that letter, "Sanger recognized that elements within the black community might mistakenly associate the Negro Project with racist sterilization campaigns in the Jim Crow South, unless clergy and other community leaders spread the word that the Project had a humanitarian aim."

The source has already been cited in the thread, and the historical evidence is solid. I've shown a willingness to reject the common narrative in favor of the actual truth plenty of times. Which is what history is supposed to teach, even if the teachers do not.
