  • Example of a "free market" economy", "democracy" etc:
Banksters give loans to themselves by using an institution that is supposed to control banksters That's, like, more than USA GDP of loans in 2,5 years? And that bull**** is called "economy"?
The report examines emergency actions taken by the Federal Reserve from 2007 to 2010 to stabilize financial markets during the crisis. It finds opportunities to strengthen policies around managing risks, vendor conflicts of interest, and documenting decisions to restrict access for some institutions. The actions peaked at over $1 trillion outstanding and were generally implemented by the New York Fed.

And how the hell Federal Reserve gives loans, anyway? It isn't even it's function.

Table 8: Institutions with Largest Total Transaction Amounts (Not Term-Adjusted) across Broad-Based Emergency Programs(Borrowing Aggregated by Parent Company and Includes Sponsored ABCP Conduits), December 1, 2007 through July 21,2010

    • No. A loan is not economic output. It is a transfer.

Still doesn't change the fact that Banksters printed money equal to a GDP of USA and gave these money to themselves.
And given that real sector GDP is about 16% in USA, or something like that, they actually printed more money in 2.5 years than an entire output of real sector of ecnonomy in USA in these 2.5 years. So, basically, for each dollar of real goods produced in USA, Banksters printed a little more than a dollar and gave it to themselves.

And loan is a transfer only if you need to give it back.

You expect someone to read all of that? Where is Table 8 referenced in the report? How do you expect anyone to understand what you're trying to say?

          • Putin's past cronyism and corruption is coming to bite Russia in the ass. VEB was a bank originally set up by Lenin but Putin used as his own private political slush fund off the official government balance sheet and away from prying eyes. Well, now the whole bank is bust and needs a bailout. It turns out spending $50 billion on the Sochi games (about 2/3rds of that amount was stolen mostly by Putin and his gang), bailing out politically connected oligarchs, and funding political projects comes at a heavy cost.

$50 billion? Where did you find that number? 1650 billion rubles?

I see that it cost 100 billion rubles to a budget, and up to 221 billion rubles of private investments. And it already paid for itself.

                • Not surprisingly, Ellestar is wrong yet again.

                  -----------

As of October 2013, the estimated combined cost of the 2014 Winter Olympics had topped US$51 billion. This amount includes the 214 billion rubles (US$6.5 billion) cost for Olympic games themselves and cost of Sochi infrastructural projects (roads, railroads, power plants).

It is a state owned bank which Putin and his cronies have plundered and used as their own slush fund for years. Putin even named himself as its CEO so he could better steal from it.

                    • I thought I should say something nice about a town in Russia even if the country's government was a complete criminal dictatorship piece of ****. So...

Verkhoyansk is located in Siberia and its 1300 inhabitants mostly live hand to mouth, the town was attacked last year by 400 hungry wolves hoping for some food. It is pretty much a waste land and people are so poor women prostitute themselves for enough money to be a meal or a drink. Really sad. The average yearly temperature is -45 degrees celsius.

                      That place sucks.

                      • You have a strange definition of "nice".
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                              • Let us be kind with Oerdin.
He had to put a severed head in a body bag in Iraq (he wrote it here) being a geologist and really having no future but in the huge social welfare program that is the US army.

Such trauma, he had to attribute it somewhere. He couldn't do it to the authority (the american state that he has substituted for god) so he tries to endlessly find some region/place/whatever more ****ed up than he is.

We should treat such cases with humanity
