And ben, you keep using the other types of marriage you're against as an argument for not being called a bigot.
Well I don't support incestuous marriages either. But if you call me a bigot for that, I guess that means you support it. But we know you don't so calling me a bigot for that would be slightly hypocritical. (granted that's within your comfort zone)
Same for the other types.
So just answer the simple question.
Your stance restricts the rights of people based on their race, sex, or sexual preference. Yes or No?
I don't think incestuous falls under the protected class, but if it does then feel free to call me a bigot if you support it.
On Polygamy, i'm more open on that one. If there wasn't so much potential abuse involved I'd probably say what the heck and say ok. But in general I think it protect women better to not allow it.
The future may be different. So for now I'll stand on the sidelines on that one. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I wonder what is it that makes you want to cling to such absolut theories.
A need for a constant in your life?
Forget the catholic church.
These are outdated ideas that got trumped because they produced pain.
There are a minority of people who espouce them but the vast of progressive society doesn't, thank God.
I don't think you classify under "catholic" but more under very conservative.
Thankfully, you are so much so , that despite you "giving the good fight" (and by all means keep doing it) you are completely irrelevant.
I hope you find what's really troubling you. Or if your facade has become who you are now, then it's really no loss, except for you.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

And I don't think being gay falls under a protected class either, but hey.
And what you call blowing in the wind, I call open minded still searching for answers. Something you should try more often.
I'm not a fan of it but hearing all the arguments when comparing with gay marriages I'm beginning to believe that it should be allowed. I'd just like to figure out a way for it to protect women better before outright endorsing the legality of it. And I do assume that sometime in the future it will be legal. BINGO. I don't know why you don't embrace it if that's what you believe.

People only being able to marry their own race would also 'treat everyone the same way' according to your logic.
WRT sex, we do have a way to determine what sex someone is in a reliable fashion.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Why would you believe that pain is always bad? Suffering isn't always a bad thing.
I find Catholicism has the most comprehensive set concerning family issues. You're right, I consider myself a conservative and a Catholic even if I am not necessarily a 'traditionalist Catholic' per se.
If it were irrelevant it wouldn't evoke such strong emotions.
Is it to much to admit that maybe, just maybe, I actually believe what the Catholic church teaches?
But to humour you, what kind of suffering is a woman (or a man but that's rare) supposed to endure in your opinion?
If it is physical abuse, and you're for that, then why are you different than a saudi arabian that supports stoning someone for adultery?
(P.S. I don't think for a minute you're representing the catholic church but even if you were, then others are in trouble not me )

We agree but you haven't answered my question.
That's ok though.
You edited.
Alright, then I suppose that I can agree with that.
Living in marriage does have its difficulties, I'm not for simply packing up and leaving when the going gets tough (and I have relatives that if there is a heaven, there're already in )

I'm not sure how to answer it in a satisfactory way. Sacrifice can be big things. It can be the small things. Ste Therese has quite a bit to say about the latter. Christ about the former.
That's alright. You answered an important question.
You are for "strong bonds". I think most people are. And you are opposed to the quick tumble and dry that you think modern society promotes in couples. I think most people belong to the former ideology but those who do not, are free to do as they please.

Right. You believe that cataloguing species along south america's coast was the pinnacle of Darwin's work.
Now the Voyage of the Beagle, was a very different thing. At the time, the area was not well charted or understood. As a major shipping lane, yes, it was for the purpose of surveying and charting the shore.
Darwin was a guest who simple tagged along for the ride to keep the Captain from killing himself.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
