I was wondering what sort of district this was taking place in. If you Goggle "representative districts in Virginia" you can find a map of Virginia districts. I was amazed by the geography of Virginia's US representative districts. They're absolute proof of political corruption in the state. The 7th district is a nearly 200 mile long elongted diagonal stretching from Culpepper nearly to Williamsburg, along its course its bent to include selected portions of Richmond's suburbs, but not enough to upset it rural dominance. Actually, with a population of about 8 million each of Virginia's 11 House districts should have a population of 700,000 +. I don't see how this district could come close to that. The 2nd district is even stranger, it basically ties Virginia Beach to Virginia's portion of the Delmarva peninisula with odd projections into Newport News and west Norfolk."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

Dr. Strangelove - the gerrymandering actually cost the democrats the election. If they were more willing to accept balanced districts, they would have won.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

The shape of those districts has barely changed since the civil rights era which is where you can trace most gerrymandering in the country. I live in Hampton Roads, it's nothing new here."The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. The Republicans dictated the shape of the districts during the previous administration. You know, the ex-governor who is currently under indictment for taking bribes.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
