1. It seems too me that the Vatican actually has the most accurate numbers on child molestation among there clergy and they're not singing.

The rates are about 1 percent.. Not out of line with other professions.

2. Ben you seem to being going by convictions rates as compared to conviction rates in the general populace..Why would that be a fair comparison.

Why wouldn't 1 percent be a fair conviction rate?

Really it would have to be something like male school teachers where they have power and access too little boys but even that is not a good comparison because the School Teachers also have access/permission too adult ***** or dick depending on preference.

And schoolteachers have a higher, not a lower rate than the general population.

3. Percentages are very impersonal. So I would ask you Ben, how many boys have too get molested by Catholic Priests before you considered it too be a significant problem in the Catholic Church?

Do you consider sex abuse to be a significant problem for the public education system in America? It's no worse in the Catholic church than it is for the public education system.

Is it a problem? Absolutely. I agree that the Church should take it extremely seriously. But - we have to acknowledge the improvements that have been made over the last 30 years. It is not what it used to be.

Why do you think that there has been so much attention placed on Catholic Priests ****ing boys as opposed to Men Teachers ****ing boys

There hasn't been significant coverage of the abuse scandal as men raping boys.

5. What about all the times the Catholic Church has settled civil suits on this issue, that is not counted into conviction rates.

Neither is it for the public school system. Convictions are convictions. Settlements are not convictions.

As a Teacher, Christian, Man, and whatever else you may consider yourself...don't you think child molestation amongst the clergy should be addressed?

Yes, I do think it should be addressed. Is it being addressed? Absolutely. Have I had to pass screenings? Absolutely.

Don't you think that the Vatican should release all the information they have concerning this specific criminal acts to local legal authorities and let the law decide?

Do I think that the criminal justice system should release all their information? Absolutely not. Until that happens, I see no reason for the Catholic church to release all their information.

I have no issue with the release of some information. Release of all information? No. You specified all. Public release of confidential information would compromise present ongoing investigations and would be grounds for dismissal in a court of law. People who otherwise would have been convicted would be off the hook on a technicality.

Public release of confidential information would compromise present ongoing investigations and would be grounds for dismissal in a court of law. People who otherwise would have been convicted would be off the hook on a technicality.

I never said release to public. I said legal authorities. The vatican is not releasing information to legal authorities thus hampering ongoing investigations and also preventing investigations from taking place.
