    Human rights. Deal with it.

I do not believe in violating human rights. That's your answer.

So you're unable or unwilling to face up to the reality of hard choices? Fair enough.

            • It might be a bit harder if we didn't have a bunch of idiots like you screaming "rape culture." But there's no way I agree to making a 19 year old man vulnerable to a court like this under these circumstances.

A couple of dozen potential rapists in a college year, and even if one of them actually rapes someone, by your reasoning unless the college can prove it 100% they have to leave that guy living and studying side by side with their victim and hundreds of other potential targets.

Damn right if a guy gets falsely accused and kicked out of college then that's a terrible travesty and the college boards that consider that stuff should be using as high a standards as they can, but the priority is always going to be to protect rape victims and potential rape victims, because getting raped is a hell of a lot more damaging than getting kicked out of college.

Now I'm curious. What happens to jobs for men facing charges of rape or sexual assault?

Being kicked out of college wouldn't be a criminal record you'd have to disclose to potential employers. Obviously not being able to get a degree would be a terrible hit though.

                  • No, I'm thinking that if a unionised university employee could not be dismissed or suspended due to a criminal charge there is much less of a case to be made for suspending students.

Why couldn't they? Do you guys not have laws about people with sexual offences being barred from working in certain professions?

Yes, after conviction. That's a key point.

Why would being unionized prevent them from being suspended pending the case?

Some states require employers to presume innocent. Guess which states those are, red or blue. Interesting how this issue turns you authoritarian.
