Intelligence and competence aren't everything. They aren't even the main things. But I do agree re. going back to school. I'm sorry, TMM. You didn't do anything wrong. I have, uh, issues with acknowledging and accepting support from other people. My automatic thought is that if people are invested in my success in any way, then I will disappoint them when I inevitably fail. But the people invested in your success will be the kickstarters receiving the donations, and if they aren't aware of the possible donation, then there's no way you could disappoint them.
That does mean that Colon's kickstarter is out of the question though
