Don't get me wrong, the idea of the super rich jetting around lecturing others on their consumption ****s me off royally, but when it's scientists holding conferences I'm damned if I'm going to go looking for a high horse to clamber on.
They're providing data that says if we don't act now, we're going to suffer horrific consequences. What, are we supposed to go through that just a prove a goddam point?

As global demand for energy increases, it's going to become more cost effective to be energy efficient. We've got an opportunity in the richest countries to become leaders in those technologies.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

that's why land is so cheap in Manhattan
Where supply is unhindered - price equilibrium is reached at a lower level for items under greater demand than for items under lesser demand. This is why computers today are cheaper than in 1980, even though demand is so much higher.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

There is a reasonable point in there though - there is virtually limitless energy available in renewables, and the cost per unit for those will come down as demand increases and technology improves. It's just the space they require that's the problem. But that'll improve too.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
