It's one part of it.
Plus, I don't have an argument. I'm not here to change anyone's mind. I'm offering my interpretation of events. If it turns out to be wrong, oh well.
I generally have a pretty good track record with such things. Last time I felt this strongly about something, it was when the LA Kings were in the first round of the playoffs during their Cup run two years ago. I remarked how their depth would help them win. Some friend of a friend was disagreeing with me on Facebook. I didn't reply back. The Kings went on to win the Cup.
Hockey is very much dictated by randomness. Politics is less so. Any ****** can look up the numbers and read the maps. Sadly, you guys don't seem interested in doing so. I've done so. My opinion, as usual, is more informed than yours.
I don't bet because it's evil. But if I did, I would. To us, it is the BEAST.

If that's what it takes, I'm happy to run with it. The ongoing numbers I'm seeing on the debt are too scary to risk missing any opportunity.
edit for the peanut gallery: I mean the Dems taking credit for reducing the debt.Last edited by The Mad Monk; October 17, 2013, 00:05.No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Only scary to people who have a fundamental misunderstanding of economics. It's almost universally accepted (from the WSJ to the NYT) that the shutdown was bad for the economy... worse than if the deficit was reduced in other ways.Originally posted by The Mad Monk View PostIf that's what it takes, I'm happy to run with it. Only "don't tread on me" dip****s think it was good. And you idiots are an endangered species.

Good for him but Obama still won't be able to get the House back in 2014 so what difference does it make?Originally posted by Sava View PostOh... so historic low approval ratings for the Republican Party isn't a victory for Obama?
He spanked them!
Makes sense. As we all know Obama will be remembered the same way we remember Hitler.Originally posted by Ben Kenobi View PostGotta agree with Sava here. Obama won a huge victory over the house republicans.
I have to agree with his assessment of the future of the republican party.
Folks like Boehner are going to be remembered the same way we remember Neville Chamberlain.

You make an excellent point, BK. Standing your ground early on can often lead to a better outcome. Some would call that a 'stitch in time, will save nine". We are all fortunate enough to have you here on the forums to remind us of this cogent fact.As opposed to watching the Czechs ****hammer Hitler?Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
