If the GOP get their **** together he won't, but if the election was held now then the Dems would win back the house. A narrative has appeared that seems to have both sides thinking that the house is now a permanent Republican fixture, and it's not true. It requires a big Dem swing to get it back, but in case anyone's been watching the news lately, the GOP poll numbers just dropped into the abyss.

What exactly is it that's going to heal these rifts between the TP and the moderates before the midterms? The closer to 2016 we get, the more the likes of Cruz are going to want to grandstand and keep themselves relevant.

Just to clarify, I agree with Sava pretty much exactly on the 2014 prediction, although I'm a little more optimistic about the outside chance of the house going.

Everyone is such a goddamned prisoner of the moment. What is the trend now will not continue forever. Those numbers will change, because our country has the collective attention span of a 6-year-old playing GTA, and because of the large structural advantage the GOP has in the House, they aren't going anywhere, and will likely pick up seats in the Senate.
