  • If you aren't a drooling moron you'd already know why I'd have a certain sense of schadenfreude the situation described in the post there.
DD, you're talking to dannubis. The Belgian who can't even speak French. He probably doesn't understand the term schadenfreude.

Not to nitpick, but he should understand German (schadenfruede is a german word) all too well being Belgian and all. At least the Poles had the excuse of being double teamed by the Soviets for putting up little initial organized resistance in WW2. The Belgians had two successive world wars where the Germans simply ***** slapped them and used them as a thoroughfare.

        • 1. I know the word schadenfreude well enough to know there is no equivalent for it in English
          2. What is your/the republicans excuse for being shafted in the arse by the democrats these days?
          3. Quoting ben only achieves in defeating the ignore function and confirming the fact that you have nothing interesting to say yourself.

The only thing I see is a small man who doesn't want his fellow citizens to get affordable access proper health care.

            • While I have no fondness for the GOP, in this case their humiliation really seems to be more of an own goal than anything the Democrats did to them. They charged, tripped, and got gored on their own swords.

              • Also, ridiculous as it may sound to a foreigner: the GOP will, in all likelihood, be back soon. Our two-party system makes it very hard for either party to ever really die off. Their strength will wane for a few years, and then sheer lust for novelty and anger at the incumbent will put them right back where they were.

                • The idea itself that the GOP is waning at all is ludicrous and I'm not even sure where it comes from. In 2012 Obama held on by his dick hairs.

Also nobody's going to remember this a year from now.

                  • And on a more general note: I truly wonder why Ben is so butthurt over the fact I exposed that he was lying about knowing French. It is not that we didn't know already he is a pathological liar. So why this instance ?

Truth. All will be forgotten by the 2014 Congressional election, in which the GOP will continue to hold a significant House majority, and a pretty good chance at swinging the Senate.

                            Sigh.

I lack the energy to explain how wrong this is. Drake? Reg?

Well, it is kind of weird that there was any contest at all, when he was running against a giant Mormon Ken doll with no personality. That said, I can't recall ever thinking Romney had a real chance.

There is going to be some backlash from this; aren't the GOP polling somewhere below jock itch right now?

Historically Americans dislike shutdowns but they have yet to make any party pay a price for them.

Also it seems as if the governors (not Congress) know how to get things done when it comes to Obamacare: Relax, GOP! You've Already Wounded Obamacare
