She was basically brain dead, stop trying to make out as if she was just 'sick'. She was a vegetable and was going to stay that way for the rest of her life.

I know a woman who was seriously sick as kid, with brain cancer. She was in coma and the doctors said she would in best case be a vegetable if she survived at all. After a while(and what both the doctors and the people around her called a God's miracle. People prayed, the rest is up to your interpretation ) she got better and today she has two kids, a loving husband and is taking a medical secretary exam in a few months.

None of that matters to Ben. The only thing important is what he thinks. Thank god we don't live in a universe where Ben gets to make up the laws and decides what people wanted.
