Question from the back of the class

I fail to see support for the obvious point you seem to be going for here. The Bible in general including these verses seem to be talking about private willingness to help the poor rather than State coercion in forcing the issue. If your intent is to defend the morality of the dole, we could start with an argument that the Welfare State has not become what FDR warned against and turned into a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit. If you could work in a moral defense of the war against mountain pride, that would be great.

That strikes me as one of the stupider uses of "war on ..." that I can recall. And that's a tough race to even get in to, let alone win ...

I'm ok with giving poor people food stamps (though there are better ways to accomplish it) ... I don't even mind paying social workers to go around and try to convince people it's ok to take them.

I can't stand for someone calling that a "war on mountain pride" though ... unless they're up there with drones and snipers taking out hillbillys for not accepting government assistance.

Honesty: You're a liar. You deliberately deceive and tell lies.
              Where?

Humility: You are extremely arrogant. You hold yourself as above others, show off regularly and exhibit pride.
              Where?

Compassion: You have very little for those less fortunate, and hold pointless doctrine above basic humanity.
And to what 'pointless doctrine' do you refer.

You're basically the opposite of Christs teachings.
I'm a sinner. I've admitted such. You should follow Christ because it's what works.

The fact you equate socialism with 'killing millions of people'
The only one who's embarked on pharaoh style work projects since the time of Pharoah was an avowed socialist - Stalin. Personally that speaks volumes to me. Solzhenitsyn is enough evidence that socialists killed millions of people in the GULAGs, but you're free to deny historical evidence.

He tried to save everyone, but by encouraging everyone to give away their worldly goods to those in need
There is one reference to this. One. When the rich man goes to Christ and asks him, "What must I do to be saved", and Christ tells him:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.

And the second is like this -

              "Love your neighbour as yourself."

Christ does not tell him that "share and you'll be saved". He tells him, "Love God and obey the commandments."

What is really funny is that you take lines that are genuinely ambiguous and use them to defend some of your more extreme views
Yes, extreme views that 'unborn children are people', and ought to be treated as such, and "sodomy is sinful". Both of which are found in Scripture. Yet, you're too busy condemning the rich to pull the plank out of your own eye.

yet something like this which is absolutely clear you pretend is something different.
I believe I just said, "those who are rich are inclined to trust themselves and not God". I don't regard 'wealth' as associated with 'conservatives'. There are a great many wealthy liberals.

I'm not a Christian you muppet. Why exactly would I support Christian causes over socially liberal ones?
Why would anyone listen to what you have to say about Christian teachings?

You think that social liberalism has anything to do with Marx?
I sincerely doubt that you are economically conservative since you believe that the rich are 'evil' and must be punished, and that 'rich people are conservatives'. You're a proponent of the politics of envy, just like other socialists.

He then apologized to Nikolai. How many times have people apologized to you after being rude to you?
So someone is considered, 'not rude' when they deliberately insult someone, go out of their way to ridicule them for being a Christian and then backtrack when called out? I don't see it. I see the initial rudeness as evidence that rah consistantly mocks Christians for believing in Christian teachings that he finds stupid.

You've had your glaring faults pointed out so many times now, it's just not worth the effort anymore. It's not like you ever actually listen anyway.

Clearly not in your case. You seem to think that parroting 'I'm a sinner' is the same as actually doing anything about your (many) sins.

Just like all those millions of people ruthlessly slaughtered by the tyrannous socialists in Sweden, and Norway and.. oh wait..

Sure, let's just pretend Christs admonishments to the disciples to give up their worldly goods are just not relevant.

Yet again you pick and chose whatever bits you like, and cast away the rest and the overall message.

Why indeed. I don't claim to be an expert on Christianity, but it doesn't take an expert to realize you're full of ****. The most religious people I've ever met have been some of the most humble, compassionate and simply good people out there. People who genuinely try their hardest to emulate the example of Jesus. Then again some of the other most humble, compassionate and simply good people have been atheists, so for me the person is a lot more important than the belief system.

What really gets my skin crawling though are people who claim to subscribe to a believe system and then act completely opposite, which is why I keep rising to your bull**** instead of having the good sense to just ignore you.

The amount of ****s I give about your 'doubts' could be counted on the fingers of no hands. I'm a capitalist, but in a time of rampant and frankly obscene capitalist excess I don't feel any need to give it any defense. I felt the same about socialism when it goes through periods of excess. What is very certain however is that a balance between socialism and capitalism is the only truly decent system that has so far been tried, which is why when morons like yourself talk about socialism as evil, I immediately know you're a jackass with the intellectual capacity of a retarded three year old.
