Yeah, that, or most of my angry posts are in the morning when I'm tired and in a ****ty mood.

I always try to make my angry posts when I'm in a good mood. That way it's a lot more fun. Time for bed though, g'nite ...

No, BK gave me pity, too, but he also suggested I remove one of my only support structures, which is a stupid suggestion. You suggested I make the correct change to my life, which is a useless suggestion.
Then I've correctly identified a problem that you need to work on. The problem isn't "my ex is my friend". The problem is, "I am reliant upon my ex for emotional support". You need to develop support structures that aren't your ex.

No, I need to develop support structures, period. I don't make friends easily. I don't get close to people easily. That has nothing to do with my ex and everything to do with my very poor social skills and excessive social anxiety.

And depression. It's hard. I'm in treatment for the same thing. I'm sure poly will disagree about my excellent social skills and my ability to charm anyone here.

Well, Lori, if I can pass the CCNA I might have a shot at a job in NOVA. Then I'll be around to call you, sobbing, at 3 AM. With a small child bawling in the background. Wouldn't that be great?

I'm too old for crazy 3 am phone calls. Midnight at the latest.

Okay, now I'm lonely. How does this meeting people thing work? Especially if you don't like to drink, talk to people, or have fun.

I used meetup to find a D&D group but it's fun and involves talking to people. Some of them drink but it's completely optional.

Join some sort of club...make it outdoorsy. Get some sunlight. Go hiking. Or canoeing. There's tons of places to do that nearby.
