How dare they not want to pollute their land so that out of Province companies can make money.
Some people have an allergy to job creation within the Province.
Now, instead of those jobs going to British Columbia, BC has been bypassed, and the pipeline impetus is gone.
BC went over 50 years before a North South railroad was constructed, which didn't take place until after the second world war. They didn't get paved roads (and many parts still don't), until the Bennett era in the 70s.

I don't even live in LA, you stupid ****. WRT the transit fees, let's face it, the Albertans are over a barrel, they have to get their oil to market or it is worthless, the status quo isn't working for them, so they're in what a like to call a "vulnerable situation" of where they need BC much more than BC needs them so it is time to bend them over, do them up the ass with no lube, and make them say "Yes, sir, may I have another". If they can find a better transit route then good for them but until then BC should be screwing them like a cheap $5 whore.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

Personally, I would have agreed to it but charged sky high transit fees and massive upfront clean up fees which would have to be put into an escrow account before the first drop is even allowed to flow.
Then there is the problem that tar sands oil is so heavy it sinks in water instead of floats thus making convention clean up methods useless in bodies of water.
Dr. Alan Maki, an oil spill response expert testifying at the JRP hearings in Prince Rupert on February 5, 2013, told the hearing, “It's fundamental physics that everything has a specific gravity relative to water. Water is 1.0. All the compounds we're talking about range from .75 up to .92, .93. It is an immutable fact of physics that they will float.”
The products Dr. Maki was referring to are the crude oil products Northern Gateway intends to ship: diluted bitumen and synthetic crude oil. It’s also important to note that sea water’s density is higher than 1.0, more like 1.02. Compounds with densities lower than 1.02 will float. That’s the basic science.
It's okay, Oerdin. Science is hard."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Actually, the industry is gearing up for much greater use of rail.
It's your choice, move the oil through the US by pipe or by rail. It's going to move one way or the other. So stick that up your pipe and enjoy it. Use lube if you wish.(\__/)

I'd love it if cars ran on water. Why don't we just do that?
Why don't we power our houses with water, too?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Actually, scratch that. If we used water we'd cause all kinds of ecological damage.

Actually, scratch that. It's too inconsistent and destroys ecosystems.
