      • BC isn't the main problem - The natives are.
There are routes through BC that would avoid all native land. The problem for the one to Alaska is natives though. BC's problem is Vancouver hippies control the votes and treat Northern BC like their own parochial fief.

        • Transition is a period between A and B.

          A is oil.
          B is what?

I understand what transition is. It is clear you do not.

            - Transportation strategy that involves cycling, mass transit, electric cars and carpooling
            - High speed rail
            - Urban farming, solar powered greenhouses
            - Replace oil industry tax breaks with subsidies for energy efficient appliances
            - Phase out two stroke engines

How are bicycles built without oil?
How does mass transit work without oil?
How do electric cars work without oil (both the cars themselves & the electrical generation for everyone)?
How does carpooling work without oil?

                - High speed rail
How is this powered without oil?
How do they run without oil?

                LOL.

It's clear you don't have the capability for true analytical thought. All of your answers are vapid.

                • We've spent a fortune on windmills yet at the height of the last heat wave they only generated 2-5% of the province's power.

Also urban ****ing farming. Why would you bother? Canada produces a ridiculously huge amount of food outsize to its population, even more than the US. I'm pretty sure Canada exports most of it.

                      Yup, inadequate insurance.

MMA’s Canadian subsidiary filed for creditor protection last week, and a Quebec Superior Court judge granted the request. The company is facing a slew of legal problems, not the least of which is the inadequacy of its insurance.

The Canadian firm stated in its filing that it has just under $18 million in assets and insurance coverage of $25 million. But the cleanup costs in Lac-Mégantic are expected to easily exceed $200 million.

                              • I'd rather take skis! I haven't done it but, maybe I should try it when I go back one of these days. Skiing all the way into town and back.
