If everyone was a paragon of Christian virtues couldn't you just have capitalism where people consume what they need and give away the rest of their income to charity? Any potential benefits from socialism would be moot.

The main difference would be in a non-central approach there would more likely be variation in how much people's needs were met. People who's plight are in the public spotlight would get more help than people who were needy but not in the public spotlight as much. People who were aware were not themselves capable of helping on their own.

In a centralized approach, it would be fairly simple to ensure everyone had their needs met, or at least had that option available to them. (In some cases people simply won't avail of the options available to them of course. This is true in either case.)

People can have faith in an ideology. However, in this conversation, the context appears to be the Christian faith.

Though Sava does get the point of frustration right, by advocating both sides of it (I guess that makes sense when it comes to Sava ) - "show me proof" vs "believing in that which we do not know" (FWIW, faith and hope [for the future working out] go together quite a bit in Christian Scripture for a reason)
