Not being a horrendous bunch of barbarians, we have no need to implement a system we've already had for about 70 years. The point about Thatcher is that she was the leader we needed at the time. She would be a terrible conservative leader for today, but at the time she took office we needed drastic action to shape our future. She was the peacetime equivalent of a war leader.
