Well, to be fair, any film being called "best picture" stands a pretty good chance of being overrated.

Weird to see a Dis post.

I'm just pissed Zero Dark Thirty got snubbed.

Hollywood needs to grow a set of balls. A woman director has more balls then the people who vote for Academy awards.

Didn't watch the Oscars--didn't care, was exhausted from a stomach bug I caught--but I have a hard time believing that:

            A. Brave was actually the best animated feature of the past year, and
            B. Seth McFarlane was genuinely funny.

I saw Argo on a plane and I thought it was pretty good, the embassy scenes were realistic, although portraying the state dept people as a bunch of nobs was clearly a Hollywood/intel community slant. The diplos are the best and brightest in any embassy, so everyone else both admires and loathes them, lol. I like the way the Canadian Amb was played. The airport and Hollywood scenes were good. All in all a worthy winner. Although the public fascination with people who sneak around baffles me.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

I didn't care enough to watch due to having better things to do for 4 hours. I only got curious when HC started the slap fight about Seth not being funny.

In my defense, even the positive write ups don't make me feel bad for not watching him hosting it.

The Michelle Obama thing was totally third worldish, like something Cristina Kirchner or some other populist would do.

I thought it was brilliantly absurd, with the military 'guests' in frame trying to look casual but engaged. I don't think they were going for absurdism, though.
