I enjoyed the show. I cannot remember the last time the 'big 6' awards were divided betwen 6 different pics.

Apparently Seth MacFarlane was almost as funny as Dane Cook.

          Argo **** Yourself!

Good show! Glad Ang Lee won Director and Tarentino won Best Original Screenplay. Like Uncle Sparky, I love that they spread around the love. And McFarland was surprisingly good as host.

This is literally the opposite of what everyone else has said, from what I've heard.

The Banality of Seth MacFarlane's Sexism and Racism at the Oscars

The best moment of Seth MacFarlane's Oscars hosting gig may have come late in the night when, in announcing Meryl Streep, he said "our next presenter needs no introduction" ... and then just walked away.

If only he'd kept his shut his mouth more frequently.

Argo was a good movie, but also very overrated. I'm not sure if it ended up winning anything because the oscars suck major donkey dick.

Also, Major Donkey Dick was my CO in 'nam.

It's because they are all whiny about McFarland making fun of the actors and movies. I even read someone saying "This isn't the Golden Globes" - as if at the Academy Awards they are immune from mockery.

Interestingly enough, while the opening joked everyone liked it except Entertainment Weekly, EW was actually in semi-praise of McFarland:

Of course they were. McFarlane is nothing if not an excellent troll.

Haven't seen Argo, but it seems overrated. Hollywood likes it when they make movies about themselves. They like to think they do some good in the world, instead of inspiring all the shootings that they really do.
